HELEN JOYCE STEFFENS On Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at the age of 83, Helen Joyce Steffens (nee Sawka) passed away peacefully with family by her side. Helen was born on October 30, 1930 in Winnipeg. She married Frank Dixon Steffens on November 27, 1947 and spent many years travelling with her husband and daughters in the Armed Forces. Helen was predeceased by her parents Annie and Michael Sawka and her husband Frank, as well as her eight brothers and sisters. Helen is survived by her daughters Georgie Harder (Andy) and Jackie Bergin (Rick). She is also survived by her grandchildren Kimberly Harder, Sheri Pfeiffer (Jim), Sean Bergin (Lori) and Jason Bergin (Tabitha) and great-grandchildren Elizabeth Pfeiffer, Mark and Alex Bergin, and Jasmine Bergin. Mom loved spending time with her family and leaves behind many precious memories. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to all of the staff at Golden Links for all the love and care they showed mom over the last eight years. We would also like to give our deepest appreciation to everyone for their prayers and love and support. Regretfully, no memorial service will be held, just a private service for immediate family.
