  • Father Guy was not only our parish priest, but my friend and mentor, both while he was here and long after. I used to call him Papa Guy. He was also a very good friend to my father-in-law and a cousin to my children as my 1st husband was from St. Laurent. He was the one who got our new church built in Ashern. My family and I send our deepest sympathy to all his family and to the Oblate community. R.I.P. my dear friend, I love you and will miss you very much. - Posted by: Ann Gislason (Rel. Ed Co ordinator at Holy Cross Parish in Ashern, MB and friend) on: Oct 31, 2014

  • To the Oblate Community; Fr. Lavallee would take time to spend with my Dad who also lived at Residence Despins. Dad and Fr. Lavallee would take rides to St. Laurent or Le Festival where they both enjoyed eating and a little toe tapping to the fiddle music! I was always happy when Dad said he was going out with Fr. Lavallee. I got to know Fr. Lavallee too and I was very saddened to hear of his death. My sympathies to the community...Rest in Peace, dear Fr. Lavallee. Most sincerely, Bonnie Makodanski on behalf of my Dad, Tony. - Posted by: Bonnie Makodanski (Friend) on: Oct 29, 2014
