Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAMELA JEAN EILER Peacefully, at 10:00 p.m. on October 23, 2014, Pam Eiler died. Born on Bastille Day, July 14, 1947, Pamela Jean Eiler (née Thompson) was a revolutionary at heart. The eldest daughter to Maurice William and Agnes Jean Thompson, Pamela lived in vivid colour with much joy. Born in Winnipeg, Pamela set her roots in central Canada. Her childhood homes in St. Boniface and Windsor Park, and summers spent at Winnipeg Beach were full of fond memories. In the late 1960s, Pamela trained to become a registered nurse, living in residence at the Winnipeg General Hospital. Her years nursing in Winnipeg and Altona filled her with joy and solidified fast friendships, held to this day. In 1969, Pamela met the love of her life, Larry Eiler, and they were married on December 20. By 1978, Pamela and Larry were ready to leave their winter home in Winnipeg and relocate to Altona with their young children, Karen and Brian. The Eilers spent summers at Granite Lake in Northwestern Ontario in the company of family and good friends. In 1979, Pamela accepted God's sacrificial gift of His Son, Jesus, and she was saved by her faith. Pamela had all confidence that her Father God prepared a place for her in heaven. Pamela is survived by her beloved husband, Larry; daughter Karen Friesen (Chris); son Brian Eiler (Laurie); and the delights of her heart: grandchildren Kai, Jordan, Ella, Sepp and Amanda; mother Agnes Thompson; brother Bob Thompson (Murielle); sister Wendy McRobbie (Jim), and sisters-in-law Shirley Sonnichson and Darlene Eiler and extended family. The weeks Pamela spent with her father during his illness in 1996 were especially close to her heart. According to Pamela's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family ceremony will be held in early November. We welcome you to a reception at the Altona Senior's Centre on November 7 at 2:00 p.m. We encourage guests to bring a note or a story to share. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Compassion Canada's Christmas Gift Fund or Angel Tree, a ministry of Prison Fellowship. Pam gave great gifts and she would be delighted to give more. Mom, we miss you already! Wiebe Funeral Home Altona in care of arrangements. 204-324-5404

I had the pleasure in getting to know Pam serving on the Osteo-Porosis committee for Southern Manitoba. Sorry to hear of her early passing. She gave much of herself to causes she believed in. ERNA - Posted by: Erna Bergmann (friend) on: Nov 05, 2014

Pam was a great sister growing up. When I was 17 I moved back to Winnipeg from Burnaby and she snuck me into the nurses residence at Winnipeg General Hospital where I lived for a year with her and another nurse. She was always there for me when I needed her and even tho we were 1500 miles apart from each other since around 1971 we were always in touch and saw one another over the years. I love you Pam and will miss you forever. You are finally at peace. - Posted by: Wendy McRobbie (Sister) on: Nov 04, 2014

Dear Larry and family, We were so sad to hear about Pams passing, We have known Pam for many years and if we would happen to meet in the grocery store or at Jasmine's ..a brief meeting would always turn into a 1/2 hour conversation. She always talked about her family and spoke so fondly of her kids and grandkids. Even though she was struggling with some issues she seemed positive and upbeat about life and put her phisical situation into the hands of her Lord and Saviour. Always remember that those we love don't go away, they walk beside us, unseen ,unheard, but always in our hearts. - Posted by: Loraine and Earl Fowke (Friend) on: Nov 04, 2014
