I first met Jim when he was with Kerr Addison Mines in Kenora. I freelanced with C.B.C News in Winnipeg and on several occasions with Peter Mansbridge we interviewed Jim on the subject of housing. Jim had been appointed by Leo Bernier a then Cabinet Minister to become Chairman of a Task Force on Housing. Jim mentioned he was eligable for early retirement from Kerr and Ted Turton Chairmen of Canarim Investments suggested that if he moved to Winnipeg we would finance a public Company that became Gossan Resources. I do not regret the childish tricks I used to pull on him ,he had a great sense of humor. Condolences to Rachel. Dalton Dupasquier - Posted by: Dalton Dupasquier (friend) on: Jul 21, 2018

Mr Jim Campbell, he was a partner with my late father Rod McKenzie for many many years in the mining industry and has always been welcomed to our home on Home Street for gatherings. last time I spoked to Mr. Campbell was just before he died , he called and he wanted to know how my mother was doing. Ada McKenzie. and that was the last time I heard of him. I was thinking of Jim for a few days, and now to understand he has passed. My condolence to the family.. - Posted by: Ada Dupuis ( nee McKenzie) daughter of late Roderick McKenzie () on: May 08, 2017

I am going to miss Jim, he was a dear old friend that I looked forward to getting together with on my annual August long weekend visits to Winnipeg,...... it has been a long time since I was the superfit kid in his late 20's strugglling to keep up with this crazy old guy in his 50s running through the wilderness as he showed me the prospecting game, but I will never forget him or those experiences.....when I last saw him shortly before he passed, he was still talking about promising areas he wanted to check once "I get out of here" .... I had, and have, a lot of respect, and love, for that amazingly young, old guy, my friend Jim..... Rest in Peace Jimmy, you will be missed. - Posted by: John E Phillips (Friend) on: Nov 11, 2014
