JOYCE MILDRED CHAPDELAINE
Date of Passing: Oct 27, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOYCE MILDRED CHAPDELAINE 1923 - 2014 On Monday, October 27, 2014 our beautiful Mother aged 91 succumbed to Alzheimer's in the comfort of her own room in her daughter and son-in-law's home where she has resided for the last 14 years surrounded by the love of family. She is now whole again embraced in the loving arms of the family members who have predeceased; parents Albert and Ida, husband Aime and his parents Alex and Bernadette, her only grandchild Christopher Michael beloved brother Archie and brothers-in law Laurent and Abe. She will be lovingly remembered by her three children Melody (Allen), Jocelyn (Brian) and son Chris (Leah). She will also be deeply missed by her sister Audrey and husband Calvin, sister Faye, sister Sharon and husband Barry, Archie's wife Alice who was just like another sister and sister-in-law friend Leah, also in-laws Jeanne (Ed), Laurent's wife Joan, George (Virginia), her unofficially adopted daughter Joan and children, numerous nieces and nephews and last but not least her furry friend Meisha the best little hot water bottle ever. Joyce's greatest joy was her children and getting together with family and relatives, where her gift of gab entertained all. She baked the best pies and cookies and there was many a fight over the last piece of coconut cream pie at family get togethers. She had the biggest smile and gave the best hugs. These are only a few of the many things we will all miss. Our family wishes to thank Dr. Mike Dillon for his kindness and care to our mother throughout her final years. Melody would especially like to thank and express her heartfelt appreciation to all the special home care angels from the WRHA River Heights Office who helped with our mother's care for the last six years, treating her like family with kindness, compassion and respect. Thank you so much. In keeping with Joyce's wishes she will be cremated and interment will take place at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. for a final prayers (please meet at the main office for directions). Friends and family are welcome for a celebration of life with food and beverages afterwards. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9.
