Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEFANIA MELESHKO December 24, 1925 - October 28, 2014 Peacefully, on October 28, 2014 after a lengthy illness passed away at the age of 89. Stefania was born on December 24, 1925 in Stoyaniw, Western Ukraine. She immigrated to Canada in 1948 where she resided in Yellow Creek, Saskatchewan. Later, in 1951 she moved to Winnipeg where she met her loving husband Theodore (Fred) and were married in 1952. Stefania worked for a few years at Freed & Freed Company as a garment seamstress. When her beloved son Terry (Taras) was born, Stefania decided to stay at home and raise him. Stefania was a member of Christ the King Parish, Sts. Vladimir & Olga Cathedral, Ukrainian Catholic Womens League of Canada, Canadian Institute Prosvita, Institute Prosvita Seniors Club, Holy Family Nursing Home, and a supporter of CYM. She was a very out going person where she took active parts in church functions such as teas, concerts, perogy making or any other functions where she was also asked to help out. Stefania enjoyed spending time in her vegetable garden and making perogies for a few close neighbors. Stefania was predeceased by her parents, sisters Hanka, Nastia, and Parania, her brothers Korolko and Vladek. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Terry (Taras), sister Yevka, brother Peter, cousins in Western Ukraine and Australia. Stefania will also be remembered by the Horon Family, Halabut Family, Kutchma Family, close neighbors Olya Boyko, Kay Kostuik and Francis Yurkiw. The family would like to kindly thank the fine staff at Seven Oaks Hospital third floor Unit 11 for their exceptional care up to her last moments in life. Divine Liturgy Services will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., November 6, 2014 at Sts. Vladimir & Olga Cathedral, 115 McGregor Street with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Mitrat Michael Buyachok officiating. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. VICHNAYA PAMYAT KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-956-2193
