Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILFRED ERIC GRATTON Wilfred Eric Gratton, 95, of Winnipeg, died on Sunday, October 26, 2014. Eric was born on January 9, 1919 in Nottingham, England and was a long-time member of Bird's Hill United Church where he sang in the choir. Eric served in the RAF from 1939 to 1945 and immigrated to Canada in 1947 upon the conclusion of the war. He worked in Montreal at Barrett's until moving to Winnipeg in 1957 to work for Canadian Gypsum, a job he maintained until his retirement. He served in multiple leadership roles in the Boy Scouts throughout his lifetime and he relished the outdoors as he participated in camping and canoeing activities. He is survived by his wife, Lillie Bell Gratton; a daughter Joan Seal and husband David; two sons, John Gratton and wife Peggy, and Richard Gratton and wife Angie; five grandchildren, Kevin Seal, Karen Seal Andrews, Alicia Gratton Woods, Brian Gratton, and Michael Gratton; and nine great-grand-children. A memorial service in remembrance of Wilfred Eric Gratton will be announced at a later date.
