FLORENT DUPUIS 1934 - 2014 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, dad and pepère, on October 30, 2014 at the age of 80 years. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Eva (nee Chevrefils) and his children, Colette Casper (Ron), Claude (Jo-Ann), Gaetan (Cindy) and Rossel (Angela) and his grandchildren, Kevin (Glenda), Derek (Lisa), Ryan, Courtney, Stéfane, Jolène, Josh, Caden, Ella, Mya and Zoey and great-grandson Luke and many beloved brothers, sisters, extended family, and close friends. He was predeceased his parents Hélouise and Alfred, and his sisters Lorraine and Jeanne. Dad was born and raised in St. Jean Baptiste on the family farm. He loved his town, his heritage, his family and his friends. In 1960, he married the love of his life and together they raised their family, his proudest joy. Dad was very involved in his community. He was well respected and admired for his incredible woodworking skills. The products of which adorn the homes of many family members and friends. He was employed at the Coop for many years until he opened his own business, Florent Home Improvement, where he was the happiest. Dad loved spending time at Lilac Resort, his and mom's little Paradise where his projects were the envy of many. He loved his weekly Happy Hours with friends who were like his family. Dad was the most loving, affectionate, forgiving, reliable, dependable, generous, honest, and selfless person we know. He was a quiet man with a huge presence, a sharp sense of humour with an incredible urge to tease. A huge void will be left in our lives. Although, Dad struggled with his health for many years, he never gave up and worked through it with great dignity and grace. We thank God for the borrowed time and we thank you dad for your strength and courage. We would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Lowden for his many years of wonderful care for our dad, as well as the compassion shown by Constable Leroux and the first responders. Funeral mass will take place at the St. Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, November 6 at 4:00 p.m. Interment to follow at the Parish Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. We'd like to offer our sincere condolences to the Dupuis family and especially to my friend Claude, whom I knew the most. I have many fond memories of Florent, whether it was work related or sports related. He never had anything bad to say about anyone and was always willing to give a helping hand. Nos plus profomdes sympathies à toi Eva et à toute la famille. Malheureusement, je ne pourrai y être. Lorraine et moi se souvenons du beua geste de Florent lors du déces de notre fils. Après toutes ces années, nous sommes toujours reconnaissants. La ou il est, il y a quelqu'un qui va reconnaître ses beaux gestes.
