HARVEY TARR Our family is sad to announce the death of Harvey Tarr on Thursday, October 30, 2014, at the age of 84. He was surrounded by family at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, MB. A loving husband, father and grandfather, Harvey leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Florine (nee Tackaberry), who is also in care at the Grace Hospital. He's survived by his three sons, Grant (Mary Ann) and their children Jeff (Trisha) and Micheal (Saundra); Neil (Moya) and their children Keith (Andrea) and Carey (Chris); and Dennis (Laurie) and their children Jordan, Chelsey (Jesse) and Ainsley (Mathieu); as well as his sister, Agnes Selin, sister-in-law Catherine Tarr, sister-in-law Pat Parke, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother, Leslie Tarr. Harvey and Florine met at church camp in their early teens, and he stood lovingly by her side until his final days. Born in Assiniboia, SK, Harvey worked most of his career at MTS in Portage, Brandon and Winnipeg. After retirement he and Florine spent over a year travelling North America in their R.V. before settling in Salmon Arm, BC. There, he worked with Investors Group. In 2001, they relocated to Penticton, BC. Harvey and Florine moved back to Winnipeg in 2013 to be closer to family. Throughout his moves, Harvey remained involved in the Presbyterian Church. He was a wonderful man with a heart for helping his family and community, and he'll be greatly missed. Thank you to the staff at Grace Hospital E.R. and 5 North for their kindness and caring. Cremation has taken place, memorial service to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to charity of choice. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715

  • Dad (Don) worked with Harvey at the MTS Brandon garage. Dad always thought highly of your father. In the late 60's your father stickhandled a contract for Neil and I to wash vehicles - for 2 young guys still in school it was good money. - Posted by: George Johnston (MTS (Brandon)) on: Nov 11, 2014

  • We considered both Harvey sand Florine dear friends and spent many happy hours in their company when we were living in Westbank, BC. We were very aware of Harvey's love and dedication to the Presbyterian church we attended with him in Penticton. - Posted by: Dennis and Jeanette Brown (Friends) on: Nov 09, 2014
