ROBERT LYLE TINKESS July 31, 1932 November 12, 2014 On Wednesday, November 12, 2014, Robert passed away at the Grace General Hospital at the age of 82 years. Left to forever cherish Bob's memory are is his wife of 60 years Karitas (Kay) Barbara Tinkess (nee Van Norman); children Barbara (Allen) Sturko, Bob Tinkess (Shauntelle Rempel), Carrie Tinkess (Doug Badiuk), Van Tinkess (Jackie Selk), John Tinkess; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Cicely Tinkess; two brothers and three sisters. Bob grew up in Regina and Central Butte, Saskatchewan. After their marriage in September 1954, Bob and Kay lived in many parts of Canada including Saskatchewan, Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Manitoba. He earned his professional engineering degree at the University of Saskatchewan. He worked for several corporations, completing his career with 10 years for the Provincial Government of Manitoba. In the 1970s, Bob took a foray into farming for several years, a time that he loved. He enjoyed woodworking and horticulture. He always ensured that his family was taken care of, an honest and trustworthy person. He was a family man, he looked forward to family gatherings and visits. A private family memorial will be held for Bob to celebrate his life. Donations in Bob's memory can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 200 310 Broadway Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6.
