MARGARET RUTH LOUISE GORRELL (nee TEDESCHI) Peacefully with her family at her side, Margaret Ruth Louise Gorrell (nee Tedeschi) passed away on November 7, 2014 at the age of 88 years. Margaret was very happy during her last years thanks to the excellent care given her at Fred Douglas Nursing home and the loving care given to her by her family in particularly her daughter-in-law Heather Allen. Margaret was born January 3, 1926 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Margaret was the daughter of Louis and Margaret Tedeschi. She was predeceased by her siblings Louis Jr, Edna, Gladys, Irene, Vivian, Leona and Violet. She is also predeceased by husbands George Allen (21 years) and Keith Gorrell (32 years) as well as her son, Douglas Allen. She is survived by her sisters Thresia and Marion and daughter, Diane Lee Brown (Allen) as well as her grandchildren Melanie Kyryliuk (Allen), Chris Brown and Susan Caie (Brown). She will be also be remembered by her blended family; children Sharon Yee and Kenton Gorrell and grandchildren, Kim Yee and Paul Yee. Margaret was affectionately known as GG (short for great-grandma) after the birth of her great-grandchildren Tyler Caie, Riley Caie, Spencer Brown, Keith Sage and Keira Yee. She could always be counted on to have a candy in her pocket for them. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society in memory of Keith and Margaret's cherished cat Sally. Margaret was a long time volunteer at the Spence Street Thrift Shop. A service will be held on Friday, November 14 at Fred Douglas Lodge located on 1275 Burrows Avenue. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.

  • Margaret was such a joy to have as a volunteer at the Spence Street Thrift Shop. Always came in with a smile, friendly and respectful of all customers. The family was always attentive at getting her there and picking her up at the end of a shift. She was very blessed to have had your kind and considerate attention so she could continue to contribution to Pregnancy and Family Support Services as long as she was physically able. Good for you for taking such good care of her. I'm sure you will miss her.
