Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBARBARA FIORENTINO August 14, 1965 November 10, 2014 It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Barbara. With her entire family at her side, she passed peacefully on November 10, 2014 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 49 years. Barbara is survived by her husband of 25 years, Dean; her daughters, Sara (Derek Hiley) and Isabella; parents Salvatore and Gesualda Signorello; sister Alfina and brother-in-law Giuseppe Grande; mother-in-law Felicia Fiorentino (Phil Mores); brothers-in-law Adrian Pastulovic (Nicole) and Peter Pastulovic, sister-in-law Giovanna Pastulovic, nieces, Giuliana, Elena, Angelina, Marissa, Christy-Marie and Brittany, nephews; Kyle and Lucas. Barbara was born in Catania, Italy on August 14, 1965. On March 23, 1967, her family moved to Canada, and settled in Winnipeg, a city that became her home for the remainder of her life. As a young woman, she attended the University of Manitoba where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and an MBA. In 1987, she met the love of her life, Dean and they were married on July, 29 1989. They were blessed with two daughters Sara and Isabella. The most important thing to Barbara was her family. She was a dedicated wife and a pillar of support for her husband. Her daughters Sara and Isabella were the focus of her life and she dedicated herself to their well-being. She was very involved in her daughters' activities and took great pride in their achievements. Family gatherings were of great importance to her. She enjoyed planning and preparing wonderful meals for all to enjoy. Barbara touched the lives of so many. Her sweet smile and kind nature will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Her generous spirit shined continuously as she freely gave her time and attention to people surrounding her. She loved unconditionally, was loyal and had a very giving heart, even to the point of putting aside her own needs. As a young woman Barbara was diagnosed with Lupus, a complicated, disruptive and life-threatening disease. Her great faith in God and her strong determination to live gave her the strength and energy to fight her daily battles with the disease. Although she suffered silently so as not draw attention to her pain, Barbara's courage was noted by all who knew her. She was a faithful and spiritual woman who devoted every Friday to attending mass and celebrating her Faith and it is to God's hands that she has been delivered from her suffering. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 15 at 11:00 am. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church 510 River Ave. Rev. Father Sam Argenziano celebrant. Viewing and condolences will commence one hour prior to the Mass. Entombment in Holy Angel Mausoleum Hwy. #1 East at Navin Rd. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lupus Foundation in her memory. Mr.& Mrs. Signorello, Alfina and Family ,and Dean and girls. I was unable to attend the service today for Barbara and wanted to send my condolences. I am heartbroken for all of you. My memories of Barb from when we were in Sicilian Dancing together many years ago are of her adorable smile and her kind and thoughtful personality. It was obvious to me when I ran in to her through the years that she was still that sweet caring spirit with the beautiful smile. My mom would always talk about Barb, Dean and the girls and what a sweetheart she was to them and what a great family she had.I am hoping she has been able to see my mom up in heaven already. I cannot imagine your pain and have no words to say . I will just pray for each and every one of you that you will find strength and comfort during this most difficult time. Much Love - Posted by: Rosetta Troia (Friend from Sicilan Dancing) on: Nov 16, 2014

I would like to offer my most sincere condolences to the Signorello Family, Fiorentino Family and all those that Loved Barb, Especially her Husband and beautiful Girls. Years ago, Barb and Alfina danced with the Sicilian Dance Group, and although they were a bit older than I, and closer to my sister's age, I always remember how kind, polite and sweet both sisters were. Later in life, My parents had a Salon in Portage Place, and my mom often visited Dean at the restaurant they had. She always talked about how wonderful Dean and his girls were, and I know she would be so saddened to hear of this Loss. There are no words to help at this difficult time but know so many people are thinking of the entire family and wishing you strength during this difficult time. - Posted by: Novella Lander (Troia) (Old Aquaintance from Folklorama ) on: Nov 13, 2014

I had the pleasure of meeting Barbara many years ago when she must have been in her late teens. The first impression of her was that of a vibrant, caring person, who exuded charm, optimism and enthusiasm in all that life had to offer. She never failed to greet you with a warm, friendly smile. When she flashed that appealing smile you knew she cared about you and the words that emanated from her lips carried a tone of genuine concern and interest. The first impression was a lasting one because through the course of her life and whenever our paths crossed Barbara displayed a most pleasing and effervescent disposition that made it a sheer delight to be in her company. Notwithstanding the trials and tribulations of her later years she carried herself with moral fortitude, inner resolve and an unquenchable zest for life. She was and is truly inspirational, a perfect example of how one should conduct themselves privately and publicly. To Dean, Sara,Isabella, to Alfina and Joe, to her mother Gesualda and father Salvatore, in fact to all of the Signorello and Fiorentino family and kin, my wife Anna and I wish to offer our condolences.
