HAROLD WILLIAM (BILL) CLEFSTAD
Born: Oct 10, 1949
Date of Passing: Nov 12, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHAROLD WILLIAM (BILL) CLEFSTAD It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Bill Clefstad on November 12, 2014. Bill was born in Winnipeg on October 10, 1949. He was the eldest son of the late Harold Clefstad and Joan Radford. He is survived by his partner of over 30 years, Gloria, his brothers Duane and Oren and their families. Uncle Bill was adored by his nieces and nephews, each with their appointed nick names. Bill loved his Minaki where he spent his summers with friends and family sitting on his deck for a chat, a tease, a coffee and of course happy hour. No formal service will be held as per his wishes. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honour to Heart and Stroke or a charity of your choice. We'll say so long this summer, but you will live in our hearts forever.

Bill was the "right stuff"; quiet yet full of fun, always willing to do things, loyal, athletic and smart. Our condolences to all those who were close to him. He certainly lightened up our lives and will be greatly missed. - Posted by: Mark and Jeanne Matthewson (Friends) on: Dec 04, 2014

Only learned about the passing of my cousin Bill a few days ago. I extend my thoughts, and condolences to the entire Clefstad family on your loss. The handful of times our families spent together in our years growing up are still vivid in my mind. The Clefstad family is with you in spirit. Bill hired me and was a terrific boss!, And, by the way, my appointed nick name was "Scoot" (short for Scoot). Bill's buds always looked forward to cramming into his office for our important Friday afternoons 'meetings' (...Sport Select picks). All the guys loved to give Bill a hard time with his beloved Red Wings and Cowboys... and all the girls, well they just loved Bill ! - Posted by: Scott Spearman (Friend and co-worker) on: Nov 30, 2014

My thoughts and prayers are with Bill's family. Although it has been some time since I have been in the Norwood area, as next door neighbours, I fondly remember Bill and myself running string between our houses so we could communicate with each other! Playing shinny hockey or basketball on our driveways or "kick the can" in the back lane with our dads and other locals were memorable times. Also, our time at high school bring back other fond memories, in addition to enjoying the odd pint at the Norwood Hotel or a burger at the Red Top Drive Inn with our mates. Good times! May you all cherish the time you spent with Bill. As others have stated, he was a wonderful man and will be sorely missed. - Posted by: Frank Anderson (Former next door neighbour and friend of Bill's and the Clefstad family.) on: Nov 29, 2014

I always loved talking to Bill, especially on Fridays when the group would get together to talk about the weekend NFL games. He loved talking about going up to Minaki for the weekend in summer and how excited the dog got about going to the lake. I can see him now and the dog in the boat, lazy summer day both enjoying being back together again! - Posted by: Myron Hutmacher (Friend and former co-worker) on: Nov 17, 2014

I am shocked to hear of Bill's passing. Unfortunately I lost touch with Bill the past few years. Bill was a very special guy. We had lots of laughs. Bill was great to be around. His Red Wings have lost one of their greatest fans. Gloria, I am so sorry for your loss but I know you have great memories. He was lucky he had you to share his life with. - Posted by: Bob Derby (Friend and former co-worker.) on: Nov 15, 2014
