Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySANDRA JOANN NORRIE (nee BRILTZ) January 2, 1943 - November 13, 2014 It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Sandra Norrie. Sandra leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 51 years, Bryan, two daughters, Brenda (Rob Hutchison) and Carol (Ryan Casknette), special grandchildren, Brooke and Cole Hutchison, and Courtney Casknette. Sandra is survived by her sister Paulette, and brother and sister-in-law Lyle and Rosemary Norrie. Sandra was born in Regina but moved to Fargo with her parents as a child. It was there she met the love of her life, Bryan who was studying at N.D.S.U. Not long after their marriage, the couple moved to Winnipeg where they have made their home. Sandra was an extraordinary homemaker. She loved entertaining, delighting guests with her gourmet cooking. Sandra had a flair for decorating, running her own company for a number of years. With her bright auburn hair and a penchant for all things fashionable, Sandra was the life of the party. Always supportive and young at heart, "Ja" was a wonderful grandmother. She enjoyed watching the grandkids' different extracurricular activities. She could always be heard cheering above the crowd. Bryan and Sandra enjoyed traveling. During the years they were fortunate to visit many destinations across Canada, the US, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. During road trips, Bryan used to joke that Sandra drove half the way without ever getting behind the wheel. Summers were spent at the family cottage at Lake of the Woods. Special thanks to the paramedics of Station 18 and the emergency staff at both the Grace Hospital and St. Boniface Hospital. A memorial service to celebrate Sandra's life will be held on Wednesday, November 19 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson In the Park' Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. THOMSON "IN THE PARK" 925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com

Lillian and I warmly extend our heartfelt condolences to you; Bryan, Brenda, Carol, Rob, Ryan and family in Sandi's untimely passing which became known to me during my recently receiving and reading Fargo Central High's "Cynosure" alumni publication. Sandi and I kind of grew up together, sharing many great times involving both of our families. Those times are always remembered with fondness. Sandy had a fun, infectious personality which will be truly missed. Lillian's and my recent visits to your lovely home and Lake home were so enjoyable. Bryan---continue to Love, Laugh and be Happy. - Posted by: WAYNE RICHARD HABERLACH (FIRST COUSIN) on: Feb 12, 2015

My sincere condolences to you Bryan, Brenda, Rob, Carol and family. I was shocked to learn of Sandy's passing the other day from Ivan at Boutique La Femme. Being good friends with Bernie for years, I of course know her son Rob and met you both on the occasion of Rob and Brenda's wedding and for a pre-wedding party at your beautiful home where you and Sandy hosted a marvellous party! My son, John Copsey, also sends his condolences. He and Carol starred together years ago in a high School musical at Ft. Richmond Collegiate. So many memories you will all be sharing together...they can never take those from you! - Posted by: Lorrie Waugh (Friend of Bernie Fisher and Rob Hutchison) on: Nov 22, 2014

We were quite saddened by the news as we heared it from Hanna while we are spending some time in Mexico with extended family. We shared with them the wonderful times we spent together as neighbours and friends. Those Christmas parties with the amazing decorations, the very creative pool parties, the 50th Anniversary at the Manitoba Club. And lately, the dinners we shared. The Lord may rest her soul and give support for Bryan and the family. - Posted by: Amazis & Sophy Louka (Friends and former neighbours) on: Nov 20, 2014

Sandra will be sorely missed. Her laugh was infectuous. She always had a story to tell. With a flair for life, she led a very interesting one and seemed to enjoy every minute of it. Once, the street lights were out, she picked up the phone and she said: This is Mrs. Norrie and I need those lights fixed immediately (she said this in the sweetest tone possible) please. Within the hour they were fixed. This happened when our mayor was... you guessed it: His Worship B. Norrie. - Posted by: Amazis & Sophy Louka (Neighbour's & Friends) on: Nov 16, 2014

It is with true sadness to learn of Mrs. Norrie's passing. I remember a women who was full of life, love and laughing all the time. The home she created that was open to all and welcoming. I feel for Bryan, Brenda and Carol at this time as they have lost a wife, a mother and a grandmother, however please remember she will be with you everyday and will be just a memory away. - Posted by: David Roberts (Daughters Friend) on: Nov 15, 2014
