Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • May the Lord comfort your hearts as you each sense His Presence of love. Merv always had a smile as I worked on him and a genuine thankfulness for the times we prayed together. His relationship with Jesus blessed my heart and I am thankful for knowing my brother in Christ and look forward to reconnecting later when God calls me home. Peace be with you Lori, Tiffany and Jamie. - Posted by: Gerard Scott-Herridge (Chiropractor) on: Nov 19, 2014

  • I don't know anyone who volunteered as many hours as Merv. He was our youth leader all through high school & I don't know if he ever got much appreciation or recognition for what he did (teens are not always the quickest to compliment or show their appreciation...). Then he went on to so many other volunteer positions (Volunteer fire fighter, ICYA) Always a heart for youth & community. I also remember incredibly creative pranks!! So many of them. Truly inspiring. For a seemingly quiet guy Merv had a big personality. He loved to laugh. And he loved Lori. Some of my earliest memories are of the time in the 70s when my parents were youth leaders & Merv was definitely interested in Lori. He loved it when she made him laugh. - Posted by: Faith Loewen (Friend) on: Nov 17, 2014

  • Lori, although we just met, and only for a brief time, you and Merv touched our hearts, and Ken and I are so incredibly sad to read of Merv's passing. Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. We hope that once you are able to put up the tree, it will bring you and those you love some joy and peace. God works in mysterious ways and there was a reason we were brought into each other's lives at this time. God bless, Julia and Ken Bailey - Posted by: Julia and Ken Bailey (Friends) on: Nov 17, 2014

  • O, the memories that come flooding over a person at such a time. I will always remember Merv as a cheerful friendly person with an easy laugh. He sat at our table many times after he and Nelson had played hard all morning. He did NOT like Mom's cooked beet greens. On one occasion Mom asked him to throw her a bun at the table and a bun comes flying in her direction. And much giggling from the boys!! Many more memories, too numerous to mention. Lori, you and Merv raised 2 fine children and one of them is part of our family. May God hold you all in His arms.
