Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWANDA FRANZMANN To all family and friends. Wanda Franzmann passed away on November 17, 2014 in the wee hours of the morning. Truly she is resting from her earthly toil in the Arms of Jesus and united once again with her beloved husband Artur who predeceased her in 1995 and daughter who passed away as an infant in Germany. Wanda (nee Hauser) was born August 2, 1923 in Poland and arrived in Canada in 1951. What a story her 91 years have told. Wanda has one brother living in Germany with a large family and one sister who predeceased her in Austria leaving a niece, Hildegard. Many cousins in the United States where many trips were taken to celebrate reunions. From her husband's side she is survived by two nieces living in Canada and a cousin in Winnipeg. She leaves a trail of oh so many friends from so many walks in life, all who were so dear to her. Viewing will take place prior to the service. Funeral is on Thursday, November 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave., Winnipeg with Pastor Kolleen Karlowsky-Clark officiating. I just recently heard about the passing of Wanda. I was a very fortunate letter carrier who had a great route with one of the streets being Sherburn Street. I delivered to alot of wonderful people on that block and one of the highlights was delivering to Wanda. Often she would see me coming up her ramp and open the door to greet me with a warm smile and some wonderful conversation. She would often ask me if I would like to come in to warm up on cold days or offer me a cup of coffee. At times she had a bag hanging on her mailbox with a piece of paper on it saying to my mailman and the bag contained some edible snacks or treats for me to enjoy. She was a wonderful lady who I was proud to know even for a short time. R.I.P. Wanda Tim Mazur (previous letter carrier) - Posted by: Tim Mazur (former mailman ) on: Nov 25, 2014

What a wonderful full life you lived Auntie, everyday filled with your lovely smile and fierce determination. Such courage to face whatever came and do the best. You filled so many lives with laughter and endless coffee and cookies and the open house policy for anyone that wanted to drop by and have coffee and play Skipo. So many wonderful memories in childhood of going to Stony Mountain camping with you in the truck and going swimming at Grand Beach. I remember making cookies and baby hamburgers with you with Mushroom Soup which I still do and always think of you. I will so miss our evening chats at night when I would call to see how you are. Such a wonderful Auntie and second Mother to me I will miss you everyday and I love you. See you some day on the on the other side. Astrid - Posted by: Astrid Neumann (Niece) on: Nov 20, 2014

I first met Wanda and Artur in 1984, when we moved into the house next door on Sherburn Street. Wanda quickly became a warm and caring neighbor and friend, even while struggling to care for Artur as his dementia and illness continued to grow over the many years she was his wife, companion and care-giver. Always ready to laugh, serve up rum-balls, liqueur filled chocolates and German cakes with hot, strong coffee to her guests, she welcomed us into her home, or shared many a good story over the back fence while working in our gardens. Wanda's strength and courage inspired me to live my life more fully and gratefully for the many blessings our Creator has seen fit to bestow upon me, especially the friendship and affection that Wanda brought into my life for many, many years. May you rest in Peace, and laugh all the way into Heaven. With love, Carole, your neighbor. - Posted by: Carole Zoerb (friend & neighbor) on: Nov 19, 2014

The woman who always fed me with her food, her laughter, her patience, her loving hugs, and her open heart. Auntie loved people. Her smiling eyes and face are what I see each time I think of her. The determination and strength that her five foot body mustered to care for her beloved Artur and later as her health declined, to stave off any notion of leaving her home or accepting help. The gentle involvement of a neighbor and also an angel in disguise, Marilyn Swain, did what they could to ensure Auntie was as safe as possible. .,,,...into the sadness and smiles of our memories, we lay you down....into the cycle of living and dying and rising again.....we lay you down.., may you rest in peace, in fulfillment and in loving...may you walk straight home in God's brace....and may you find sweet Uncle there to Embrace you - Posted by: CarmenNeumann (Niece) on: Nov 18, 2014

What would my life have been like had I not been adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Franzmann at the wee age of 1? I don't know but I can tell you all that my life was fuller having two sets of parents caring for me. Two sets of hugs and kisses and yep two sets of scolding when needed (often). I struggle with time wasted as life as we know it in the fast lane got the better of me but I am so thankful that we share the same faith and that one day (soon) we will have eternity to make up for lost time. God is Good and Mrs. Franzmann I can see you now hugging and laughing with Jesus - your Saviour and Mr. Franzmann - your one and only true love during your journey here on earth. Fondest memories forever and ever till we will all be together again. - Posted by: Marilyn Swain ('adopted' daughter) on: Nov 18, 2014
