DEREK MATTHEW GIESBRECHT October 6, 1987 - November 17, 2014 Derek Matthew Giesbrecht peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, November 17, 2014. Derek passed away at the Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 27 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving mother Janice (Les), his sisters Avery (John) and Brittany (Jon), their families, and the many caregivers that have been a part of his life. Derek was predeceased by his brother Jeremy in 2006 and his father Randy in 2008. Since 2008 Derek had resided at Health Sciences Centre, The Victoria General Hospital, and in 2012 he moved to his current home at Riverview Health Centre, all of which places he has received exceptional care and made many friends. A celebration of Derek's life will be held at the Morris Multiplex on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at 3:30 p.m. Public viewing will be held at the Morris Funeral Home on Saturday, November 22 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and at the Morris MultiPlex prior to the service.
