Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I just wanted to pass along my condolences to the family for their loss. - Posted by: Greg Dalzell (Friend) on: Nov 24, 2014

  • Lena and Joe were the first Italians we met when we moved to this area and since then we became friends and would meet together with other Italians of the neighbourhood at Christmas time and in summer. Lena was a great cook, and she had a green thumb, giving to us generously, products of her beautiful garden. She was generous too in giving advice how to grow flowers. Now she is gone, she went to reunite with Joe, she is happy but we will miss her. Our condolences to Adelina and Enza and to the all family, ciao Lena, buon viaggio Silvia e Italo - Posted by: silvia italo chiaramello ferrarese (friends) on: Nov 24, 2014

  • We purchased a lot in 2006 on the corner. Not knowing, who our new neighbours would be. What were we to expect in our new neighbour? Well, we realized we moved in next door to an elderly couple/Joe & Lena; an exceptional "Italian couple". Obviously, we had a communication barrier! We overcome that barrier, in no time at all. Joe, working in construction all his life; became "volunteer supervisor". He would check in on our building and help out at times/have his smokes,"don't tell Lena". Then we lost Joe/Lena took over as "Supervisor" but became much more. Lena was our "family friend" and will remain a treasure in our hearts forever. Our deepest sympathy, to the families. - Posted by: Dale and Diane McGee (Next door Neibourhoods and friends ) on: Nov 22, 2014
