MARY ANN AILEEN KEANE (HAY)
Born: Dec 09, 1942
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY ANN AILEEN KEANE (nee HAY) It is with great sadness and sorrow that the Keane Family announces the sudden, but peaceful, passing of our wife, mother and grandmother Mary Ann at the age of 71, on Monday, November 17. Mary Ann was born in Winnipeg on December 9, 1942. She is predeceased by her parents William and Aileen Hay. Mary Ann is survived by her husband Jack, sons Billy (wife Kerri) and Mike (wife Tammy), and her daughter Jackie all residing in Winnipeg. Mary Ann had six grandchildren whom all affectionately called her "Grammy": Taylor, Geordie, Brendan, Keanen, Jackson and Olivia. Mary Ann is also survived by her brother Lawson of Whistler, BC. Mom was a graduate of Gordon Bell High School in Winnipeg, and she impressively completed her Bachelors Degree at the University of Winnipeg late in life in 2004 at the age of 61. Mom worked at Merrill Lynch, the Royal Bank and Broadway Florists. It was at Broadway Florists where she enjoyed most of working life with her dear friends Paul and Cathy Cholakis. Mom loved to support the local community center as she raised her family with her husband Jack. She was always very willing to volunteer her time and was very involved in volunteering at Sir John Franklin Community Center serving on their Board in numerous capacities. Mom was the ultimate "Hockey Mom": supportive, positive, passionate, attending virtually every game, and always shared encouraging words when necessary regardless of who she happened to be talking to at the time. Mom loved following her children and grandchildren play hockey, soccer, softball and all of their school activities. Mom's passionate interest and positive philosophy shaped us all in becoming better athletes and community citizens. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba and the Canadian Diabetes Association. Funeral services will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home located at 4000 Portage Ave. West on Monday, November 24 at 2:00 p.m. www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715
