WAYNE ROBERT SPECTOR Sadly, Wayne Robert Spector passed away on November 5, 2014 at age 61. Wayne was the son of the late Merle and Manny Spector. He leaves to mourn his sister, Terri-Mae Wolodarsky (Gary); their sons, Joel Wolodarsky (Jennifer Teskey) and David Wolodarsky (Kara Marantz); great-nephews Ben, Noah and Jack Wolodarsky; and lifelong friends, Oskar Lakatas and Peter Clark. Wayne was born on December 24, 1952. He spent happy early years in Watrous, Saskatchewan and moved to Winnipeg at twelve years old. As an adult, he worked at Metro Drugs, Brownstones Ltd., the Great Canadian Art Company, and ran a vending machine business. Wayne was a unique individual. He was a big man, with thick wavy hair and a booming voice. He was fastidious. He was loyal, well-intentioned and well-mannered. He had a positive outlook and tried to adjust his expectations to make the best of situations. He was a tower of strength and determination. He has been described as a "big teddy bear" and a "gentle giant." Wayne had a very kind heart. Wayne loved trains: watching trains, photographing trains, running model trains on train layouts, going to train conventions and reading train magazines. He belonged to four train clubs and attended most of their meetings. He had a pipe collection and a cigar collection and enjoyed smoking with the men at the cigar shop and having a relaxing cigar at the Forks. He liked good food and VLTs. Most of all he loved his family. They loved him. Wayne will be missed. Thanks to the myriad of medical and paramedical professionals who helped Wayne throughout his life. Donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
