JAMES ORLAND PEEVER February 22, 1926 - November 16, 2014 After a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease, the family of James Orland Peever announces the passing of our father and grandfather at the age of 88. Born in Canora, SK and raised in Pelly, SK with his three brothers: Stewart, Elliot and Irvin and sister, Audrey along with parents Ernest and Clara, Jim always cherished the companionship of his family. His brothers were his best friends. He moved to Winnipeg as a young man to complete his high school education and to begin work with Reliance Grain where he met Marion Williamson, his future wife. Later, he transferred to United Grain Growers where he worked until his retirement. Jim loved his work, playing a game of golf at Breezy Bend, maintaining a weed-free lawn and keeping an immaculately clean car. He was a talented handyman, astute investor and an avid reader of the entire daily newspaper including the crossword puzzle. He is survived by his wife, Marion, two sons Wells and Robert and daughter Wendy and their families. He was predeceased by his parents and four siblings. No formal service will be held. Cremation has taken place. A private family memorial will take place at a later date. A special thank you to Dr. Moran de Muller, the nurses, unit co-ordinator and health care aides who assisted Jim with his journey. The family is so grateful to Whelma, Phil, Teferi, Valerie, Kaunchan and the staff of 1 East who made Jim's final days comfortable while providing exceptional support to our family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to CancerCare or a charity of your choice. THOMSON "IN THE PARK" 925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com

I worked with Jim for about 10 years just prior to his retirement from United Grain Growers, and took over his position following his retirement. Just learned of his passing recently. I learned a lot from Jim, and owe him a lot of gratitude. May he rest in Peace. Condolences to Marion and the family. Louie - Posted by: Louie Sawatzky (Former co-worker) on: Apr 27, 2015
