Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHAZEL ANNIE PALINDAT Hazel Annie Palindat, age 93 passed away peacefully on November 14, 2014 at Calvary Place Personal Care in Winnipeg. Hazel, the second youngest child of seven, born to Herbert and Florence Gratton, was born on September 23, 1921, in Brandon, Manitoba. On April, 17, 1948, Hazel married Alfred Palindat of Winnipeg, residing in St. James. She was devoted to her husband and accepted his two children into her life, Henry and Evelyn. At age 90 she wrote letters and sent cards to her family and friends as they were very important to her. She loved to receive notes and cards from her grandchildren and especially the pictures of the little ones. Hazel enjoyed cooking and knitting and tending to the flowers in the garden. Hazels life consisted of her daily routine of meeting a special group of friends for coffee at Polo Park Shopping Centre in spite of weather conditions. She enjoyed listening to their stories and appreciated the friendship and closeness she felt from these friends. Each day she did her mall walking and knew many people who worked in Polo Park. She was a friend to the many people she met. Hazel took pride in her dress and style. She did not hesitate to buy in fashion clothes for herself and enjoyed the compliments she received. Hazel was predeceased by her husband Alfred on August 6, 1993; parents Herbert and Florence Gratton; brothers, Austin, Bill, Les, sisters Florence, Irene; step daughter Evelyn Willison and son-in-law Walter Willison of Victoria, B.C. She is survived by her stepson Henry (Barbara) Palindat of Edmonton, eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, sister Ethel Donogh, sister in law Evelyn Ratz and many nieces and nephews. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715

Condolences to the family. Joyce Peters was the main caregiver to her precious Aunt Hazel. I heard many interesting stories about her. She walked the Polo Park Mall for years and even took the bus from Lions Manor downtown and met her friends there. Joyce loved to help her aunt and really cared for her and I know she will miss her. I know she sat with her almost right to the end and sang and read Scriptures with her. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you all as your bury your Aunt Hazel. - Posted by: Fritz Warkentin (friend of family) on: Dec 02, 2014
