  • Ernie was a giant of a man and the ultimate gentleman. Donna and I got to know Ernie when joining the Skooter family about 18 years ago. He was always one of the first to welcome someone and have a kind word. Don't get the chance to visit with Ernie too much over the last couple years as Ernie was usually soundly asleep when we visited. We will toast Ernie's memory with a glass of his favourite red wine. Your father will be missed by the entire Skooter membership. Keith & Donna - Posted by: Keith & Donna Phillips (A Brother and Skooter Buddy) on: Nov 23, 2014

  • I met Ernie when I worked at MTS. He was a lovely and caring individual always giving his time to those less fortunate than himself. He always talked about the achievements of his family and was so very proud of each one. Although as children we are conditioned that losing our parents is a part of the circle of life, closing these chapters is always marked with great sadness. There are no words that can ease your sorrow, but may you take comfort in knowing that you were wonderful children and did everything in your power to ensure that your dad had the best quality of life possible.. It is with sadness and also joy that I know Ernie is now in a better place. -Bonnie and John Higgins - Posted by: Bonnie Higgins () on: Nov 22, 2014

  • We are so sorry for the loss of your Dad. So grateful for the time I got to know him when he was married to Dorothy. I delighted in our crib games - I think he won every game we ever played! Jim recalls about 40 years ago, his Dad was always cursing Ernie when they would be out duck hunting in the marsh, as Ernie would tower above the marsh reeds and constantly scare the ducks away. Considering Ernie's height, the ducks could see him for miles and avoid the area. He was quick to laugh and had a wonderful sense of humour. Many fond memories of a wonderful man. Our sincerest condolences to the family. - Posted by: Jim and Diane Crowe () on: Nov 22, 2014
