FRANCES ADELINE ZINNICK (nee SITARZ) January 1, 1923 - November 22, 2014 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Frances Zinnick, of Melrose, Manitoba, on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the age of 91. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Adeline (Jim) Kosheluk, Garry (Sherry) Zinnick, Linda (Brent) Semenchuk, and Darlene Zinnick; grandchildren: Jeffery, Bradley (Kristjana), Shauna, Charlene (Chris), Amanda, and Justin, and great-grandchildren: Kolby, Kayllin, Logan, Nicholas, and Tatum. She is also survived by her sisters Anne (Mike) Lucko, Mary Hammerling, and brothers Tony (Pat) and Joe (Beverley). Frances was predeceased by her husband John, of 66 years, her parents Anthony and Maria Sitarz, brothers: Casmir, Walter, John, Edward and Charlie, and sister Kay Sych. Frances was born January 1, 1923 in Melrose, Manitoba and was raised on the family farm. After school she moved to Winnipeg and worked in a sewing factory. On November 16, 1946, Frances married the love of her life, John. Frances and John started a family and lived their entire lives in the Melrose area. Frances was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and was able to touch many people's lives. She had a strong belief in her faith and will be truly missed by her family and friends. Frances found great joy in raising her children and worked alongside John tending the farm. She found great pleasure in gardening, making preserves, attending Sunday Mass, and spending time with her family and friends. In their later years, Frances and John enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, listening to their favourite Ukrainian music on the radio and catching up on all the latest news from Melrose. She will be forever in our hearts and will continue to watch over us from heaven. Funeral service will be held at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church (PTH 212 and Sapton Road, Cooks Creek, Manitoba), Friday, November 28, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. The service will be officiated by Father Joseph Tran. Pallbearers will be Frances' grandchildren. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Betel Personal Care Home in Selkirk for their kindness and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Frances' memory to St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church's Building Fund, Box 6 Group 22 RR2, Dugald, MB R0E 0K0. We had a wonderful Mom and Granny, One who never really grew old; Her smile was made of sunshine, And her heart was solid gold; Her eyes were as bright as shining stars, And in her cheeks fair roses you see. We had a wonderful Mom and Granny, And that's the way it will always be. We love you and will miss you Mom/Granny. www.seasonsfunerals.ca
