Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySUZIE SCOTT Suzie Scott died peacefully November 23, 2014 in Winnipeg, at the age of 101. She was born to Jacob and Sarah Loewen October 20, 1913 at Lowe Farm, MB, where she spent her younger years. Some of her memorable early experiences were her first ride to Winnipeg, the summer fairs, and the occasion when her teacher encouraged her to learn to play the harmonica. Suzie went through some very trying periods in her midlife. She was a faithful member of the St. Boniface Evangelical Christian Church and later found fellowship with the people of Morrow Gospel Church. The Lord brought peace and comfort to her soul for the remainder of her years. Suzie joined the Winnipeg Philharmonic Band in 1988. The weekly practices, frequent solos, and performances added much joy to Suzie's life. Suzie was predeceased by her son Ernie in 1942, and brothers and sisters Peter, Annie, Sarah, John, Tina, and Jacob. Her husband Walter died in 1988. She is survived and remembered by her son Harold (Sally), grandchildren Aaron and Laura (Ray), great-grandchildren Adrian and Natalie, as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Epilepsy and Seizure Association of Manitoba. The family appreciates the care she received at the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. It's hard to believe that Suzie was so sweet, smiling, laughing, telling funny stories at her age. She was also the poster girl for autonomy and independence, we should all be so lucky! We were surely lucky to have known such a strong, good lady! - Posted by: Twyla Jaworski (Grand-Neice) on: Nov 29, 2014

We remember Suzie Scott playing the harmonica at special programs at the church. She enjoyed people and loved to share her story with us. - Posted by: Henry/Katie Epp (knew Suzie from Morrow Gospel Church) on: Nov 26, 2014
