JAMES GARFIELD SEARLES May 21, 1955 - November 23, 2014 With deep sadness we announce the tragic passing of our father, husband, brother, son and Papa, James Searles of Winnipeg, Manitoba, on Sunday, November 23, 2014. James died in Bullet Tree Falls, Belize at the age of 59 years. James now watches over his daughters Jenny (Jason) and Sabrena (Christopher) and his four grandchildren Skye, Evan, Atlas and Asia, who meant the world to him. He will be forever missed by his newlywed wife, Nicole (nee Warner); brothers, Tom (Darlene), Hobie (Brenda) and Ed (Angie), and sisters Terry (Aubie) and Sue (Ric). Also left to mourn his passing is his father Garry, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews and countless friends. He is reunited with his loving mom Doreen; beloved previous wife Sherri; cherished grandparents; and little nephew Johnny. We are comforted knowing James enjoyed his last years in retirement; travelling between his grandchildren, his cabin in Wanasing, and his home in Belize. James loved the outdoors and anything with motors or wheels. Summers were spent boating and camping; winters on the Ski-doo or exploring southern locales. As a heavy duty diesel mechanic, James worked on equipment in the department of highways for the province of Manitoba for 35 years. After hours he could often be found tinkering. 'Squirelly' was known for his big heart and he was always there for a friend in need. On Wednesday, December 10, 2014, a Celebration of James' Life will take place at 1:00 p.m. in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, Chapel of Memories, 1020 Main Street at Manitoba Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. Please come and share your stories and memories. The family would like to thank Wojcik's Funeral Chapel for helping us get James home. Wojcik's Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 2157 Portage Avenue, 204.897.4665, is in care of arrangements. wojciksfuneralchapel.com "Good bye James, we can still hear you giggling. Until we meet again."

James, every day that passes, this gets harder. I miss you with all my heart. Alf and Suzie miss our walks together. I do not know the reason why you were taken from me so quickly, I don't know that I will ever understand. We had so many dreams and things we wanted to do. If I could turn back the clock, I would make it me. You meant so much to so many people, but I am glad that you chose me to be your wife, the one you wanted to grow old with. That means the world to me. I know your kids and grandkids and family miss you terribly. This world will never be the same without you. I love you "flying James". xxxooo - Posted by: Nicole Searles (Wife) on: Dec 29, 2014
