MARY FRANCIS (MAE) DUNMALL (KEOUGH) -
Date of Passing: Nov 23, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY FRANCIS (MAE) DUNMALL (nee KEOUGH) 1917 - 2014 Peacefully, with her husband of 66 years by her side, Mary Dunmall (Mae) passed away on November 23, 2014 at the Deer Lodge Centre. She was 97 years old. Mae will be sadly missed and always loved by her husband, George Dunmall, and her sons, Larry (Sharon) and Christopher (Sharon). Mae's life was centered on her family and she especially loved her time with her grandchildren: Jeffrey (Shaughnessy), Karen (Tim), Adrian and Travis. In later years, Mom was happiest when visited by her five great-grandchildren: Ben, Owen, Jenna, Gavin and Weston. She made each person feel special. For Mom, St. James was home and she loved to have friends and family drop by. Her mashed potatoes and gravy were legendary. She also enjoyed having her family at her Betula Lake cottage, which became a meeting place for the lake kids. Her lemon desserts, cookies and blueberry pies were known around the lake and, on any given evening, Mae would beat all the kids at cards. Mae's faith was an important part of her life. She was a devote Catholic and an active member of the church parishes at St. Ann's and St. Paul the Apostle. She attended regular church services at Deer Lodge right up to her passing. Mae and George had a special marriage spanning 66 years. They were a constant support for each other and at Deer Lodge would park their wheelchairs together and hold hands: a storybook life-long romance. Mom was a dedicated, loving wife, and an amazing mother, sister, auntie, nanny, great- nanny and friend to all who had the privilege of sharing her life. Rest in peace, Mom. We all love you. Notice of funeral arrangements will follow at a later date. The family thanks the staff at Deer Lodge 7 East and 3 East for the loving care provided for Mary and for the continued loving support of the staff on Tower 4 for George. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice if you wish. THOMSON "IN THE PARK" 204-925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com

I have many fond memories of Mae from my childhood. She and George were part of my parents' close circle of friends. I recall she was always kind and interested in my sisters and me. I also remember legendary baking and parties. It's been many years since I've seen her, but it's clear her spirit and generosity never wavered. My sincere condolences to George and your family. - Posted by: Maureen MacDonald (Family friend) on: Nov 29, 2014
