For those that knew Jean they quickly learned despite his “tough guy” exterior he was a big marshmallow. He had a heart bigger than anyone I have ever known. Even during his journey with cancer he was always more concerned about those he loved and may possibly one day leave behind than himself. Jean took on all tasks in life with a high level of commitment. While raising his three kids on his own he accomplished many impressive goals in his personal and professional life. Despite this Jean was a humble person and at times had to be reminded of all the amazing things he had done in his short time here on earth. My life has forever been changed for the better for having had Jean be a part of it. For that I thank him. To Shantel, Jon, Jeremy and Rachel, know that your Dad/Grandpa loved you all so very much! He was very proud of you and always wanted the best for you. He will live on in your hearts. - Posted by: Tracey (friend) on: Dec 05, 2014

Sadness to us - brings peace to you and your gentle soul. Off exploring you go now not alone but with the love and energy of the ones you have left behind. Knowing you lived your life with honour and integrity and with a gentle kindness that will never be forgotten and is hard to find. No more worries, fears or confusion you can rest now and know that you are not alone as we know we will always be in your heart and you in ours. Rest peacefully and enjoy your new journey - Posted by: Jan Dumontet (friend) on: Dec 01, 2014

We lost one of the good guys. I worked with Jean at MacDon for many years. Not only was he a great person to work with, he was also an excellent employee and teacher. He was also a strong voice for the safety program. Chad M - Posted by: Chad Morrison (co-worker) on: Dec 01, 2014

Although I didn't know him very personally, I was good friends with his daughter growing up. We spent many days over at his house for sleepovers and many fun times. He was always a very nice man and did a lot for his family. Losing a father or loved-one is never easy, I am sending love and good thoughts to Shantel and everyone else in the family. - Posted by: Allyson Barnes (Childhood friend to daughter Shantel) on: Nov 29, 2014

To a very special friend Dinah, Very sad to hear of Jean's passing. It just seems like yesterday that my husband and I played the music at your wedding, and now he is gone. I know how happy you were. You made such a nice couple. Always remember Jean will always be with you and be glad he is no longer suffering. Our deepest sympathies go out to you. Take care.
