JOHN MICHAEL MURPHY On November 27, 2014 John's generous loving heart stopped beating. He was born in St. John's, Newfoundland and was raised in Quidi Vidi Village. He was predeceased by his parents Edith and Michael, brothers Bill (Royal Navy killed in 1942), Ray, Jack and sister Margarette. He joined the military at age 18 and became an aero-engine mechanic. At age 21 while stationed in Gimli he married Leona (Heidinger) his wife of 59 years. Together they raised three children Theresa (David) Rosanne (Chris), Johnny (Nicole), grandchildren Brandon, Davina, Nathan, Mitchell, Samantha, Kelli, Joey, Jackson and Phoenix. He was very proud of all their accomplishments. He loved to work on cars, anything mechanical, much to Leona's dismay as things lasted forever. He was a very private man who liked helping anyone in need. His love of nature knew no bounds, especially birds. He was our St. Francis of Assisi and we will miss him forever. Cremation has take place and celebration of his life will be held at a later date. An Old Irish Blessing May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back.
