GOLDIE LABOVICH It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Goldie Labovich on the evening of November 26, 2014 at the Maples Care Home, Winnipeg, MB, after a short, courageous battle with cancer. Goldie is survived by her son Joel Labovich, wife Anita, granddaughters Brandi and Taylor Labovich, sister Lily Floom from Portland, Oregon, numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. Goldie was predeceased by her parents Isaac and Rose Korsunsky, brothers Ted and Ben Korsunsky. Goldie was a kind hearted and amazing woman who will forever be remembered. Always with a kind smile she accepted and respected everyone she knew and met, even if it was briefly. Goldie was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB. She started her career as a data entry clerk, then returned to school to become a legal secretary for the prominent law firm Walsh & McKay, then moved onto to a successful 27 year real estate career up to her retirement. Back in the day Goldie's favorite pastime was bowling at Empress Lanes with her brother Ted and many relatives and friends. Goldie enjoyed a lot of her time at Gwen Secter playing Mahjong with the ladies. Once Goldie had grandchildren she enjoyed spending time with Brandi and Taylor, having sleep overs - movies, playing dress up with Baba's clothes and of course her famous fruit salad. Goldie always had a smile on her face, no matter the situation. A Celebration of Goldie's life will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Chesed Shel Emes Chapel, 1023 Main St., Winnipeg, with burial at Shaarey Zedek Cemetery on Main St. at Armstrong with meal of condolence at 770 Jefferson Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society. On behalf of Goldie, her son Joel and daughter-in-law Anita Labovich, would like to thank the staff of Maples Care Home for being so compassionate and taking great care of Goldie in the two short months that she was there. Thank You.

To all who knew my sweet dear Mother knew what king of a person she was and how she accepted everyone for who they were. My heart is totally crushed and I'm completely devestated by the loss of my best freind, mother and grandmother and to the only family I had growing up until I met the love of my life who has been so supported of me along with my daughters Brandi & Taylor. For anyone who wishes to contact me and say hello especially those who comment on here I can be reached at laboreno1@gmail.com and we can go from there for phone number. Thx again for all your well wishes during this difficult time. - Posted by: Joel Labovich (Son) on: Dec 03, 2014

I remember Goldie from my teenage years. My mother Ivy Henry was the care giver to Goldie's mother Rose and over the years became good friends with Goldie, but had lost touch over the years. I remember her talking about Joel all the time. Joel you were the joy of her life. Sorry for your loss. - Posted by: JOY MCKAY () on: Dec 03, 2014

I worked with Goldie at Royal Le Page at the very beginning of my Real Estate career. She was great fun, vibrant and also a very good Realtor. She will be missed. My condolences to the family. - Posted by: Chris Krawchenko (Co-worker way back in the day) on: Dec 01, 2014
