RAYMOND NICHOLAS SIMMEL 1943 - 2014 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ray on November 22, 2014. Ray was predeceased by his parents and sister Theresa, and leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Priscilla, sister Brenda (Ron), sister-in-law Margaret and brother-in-law Martin, nine nieces and nephews, 11 great-nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends and neighbours. Ray worked over 40 years in the paper industry and after retirement Palm Desert was our home for the winter months. Ray loved all sports but Ray's real love was golfing at Pine Ridge Golf Club for the last 34 years. At Ray's request cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service. The family would like to thank Dr. Pat Harris and the ICU staff at the Victoria Hospital for their loving care and compassion during this time. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Victoria General Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice.

  • Priscilla, Ray was a golfer who truly loved the game. You got the bug for the game later in life, I am sure, by his committed passion for the game. We are sorry for your loss. Please keep playing golf - he would insist. Pat and Daniela - Posted by: Pat and Daniela O'Donnell (Friend) on: Dec 15, 2014
