To the family, so sorry to read of Bertha's passing. I had not realized she had moved to Gimli. I had missed seeing her at the airport when she used to work there. I first met her and Bob through RBC in St. B. as well as her parents, Harry and Mary Nuytten. She was a beautiful and wonderful lady. Always so pleasant. She will be missed by a lot of people. - Posted by: Gerri McLean (Shute) (Friend) on: Dec 07, 2014

To one of the most beautiful, warm hearted and giving women I have ever known. I am so very grateful to have known you. You and my Mom were so close and she always looked up to you. I am so thankful for all of those times you helped me. Haven't seen you in many years but I will sure miss your beautiful black hair and kind smile. Love you lots, Bert. - Posted by: Tammy (family friend) on: Dec 06, 2014

Bertha befriended me when I first moved to Gimli. She asked me for coffee after mass. Bertha wasn't one to complain, and bore her ill health in later years so stoically. I'm so sorry that she is gone, but I'm sure she will cheer everyone up in heaven. I will miss her. - Posted by: Cathy Danyluk (Friend) on: Dec 06, 2014

A mother is often seen with the flexion of her children. By knowing the children you are able to love the mom. I think she must have been an amazing woman. My prayers for the family and friends. - Posted by: Sherry Benson-Podolchuk (friend of daughter) on: Dec 06, 2014

Bertha and I moved to " farm country" at the same time in 1974 and became neighbours and friends. She was a delight in my life in the years she lived in Lundar and we laughed off many personal and business challenges together at her kitchen table and shared the joys and trials of raising children! She was a good friend with a delightful sense of humour and she sure raised some amazing children and grandchildren! My sincere sympathy to all of you on the loss of a beautiful woman. love from Davvy Eyolfson - Posted by: Davilyn Eyolfson (Friend and Neighbour) on: Dec 06, 2014

Auntie Bert was one of those rare people in my life who found and shared joy of the simple things in life with so many, but still called it as she saw it, even if it was sometimes hard to hear. Her "tea talks" aka advice or observations changed my life for the better. Her attitude and faith, along with her awesome family, gave her the strength to demonstrate how to deal with change and transitions due to health and loss as gracefully as one could. Even in these last years, when this meant living life far from how she desired, her youthful adventurous side was never far away. - Posted by: Nancy Muller () on: Dec 06, 2014

Bertha was one of the most amazing ladies. She was so very sweet and I always loved her voice. It was very comforting. Marianne was a best friend of my sisters and our parents were the best of friends. So many memories of coming to Winnipeg in the summer with Bertha, Mom, Marianne and Loretta and myself and staying in a rented apartment she kept, I think it was in St Boniface. Watching Herbie Goes Bananas, going to a water park. School clothes shopping. She was a big part of my childhood and I was glad I got to take Mom to visit her in Gimli more than once over the past few years. RIP Bertha. You will be missed by many. Thoughts and prayers to Molly and her siblings and family. xoxoxo Rhonda - Posted by: Rhonda Foster (family friend) on: Dec 04, 2014
