CATHERINE (KAY) SCHURKO August 27, 1914 - December 1, 2014 With great sadness, Mother passed at Seven Oaks Hospital on December 1, 2014. Mother was born on August 27, 1914 in Zbaraz, Manitoba. Mother was raised in Zbaraz where she met and married Thomas Schurko. They were married for 72 years until Dad's passing in 2005. Mother was predeceased by her parents Polly (Paska) and Philip Wladyka, her daughter Olga, her brothers Mike, Paul, and John, her sisters Josephine, Mary, Sophie, and Anne, great-granddaughter Ashleigh, grandson-in-law Rene, and granddaughter-in-law Andrea. She is survived by her son Thomas (Eva), several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all who were very dear to her heart. Mother's passion in life, after her family, was the flower and vegetable garden she and Dad used to keep. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the emergency room at Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and kindness to Mother and also the staff of Fred Douglas Lodge for the many years of love and care they gave to her. "We love and miss you Mother (Baba)." Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., with interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery.
