JEANNE LUCILLE MARIE SPROULE Peacefully at home, with her family at her side, mom passed on December 3, 2014 at the age of 69 years. Jeanne will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 44 years, Reg, her children: Darcy (Lina) Sproule, Dean (Laura) Sproule, Julie (Gerard) Mauws, Twila (Gren) Sloane, Jamie-Lee (Barrett) Wiebe, and 11 grandchildren. Mom will also be remembered by her siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends. She was predeceased by her grandson Bailey Jamie Bilton-Sproule, her parents Armand and Lilliane Frechette, brother Leo Frechette, her in-laws Harry and Janet Sproule, and brother-in-law Lorne Bailey. Mom, as well as her beloved twin sister, were born on October 1, 1945 in St. Boniface, MB. Jeanne's early years were in St. Malo, then the LaBroquerie area. There were seven siblings in her family and Mom always loved time spent with each one of them. Mom and Dad married on April 18, 1970. They made their homestead in Giroux on the Sproule family farm. Mom worked on the farm, at the Steinbach Credit Union, and taught school in Marchand and LaBroquerie. Mom also drove school bus for the Hanover School Division for 25 years. She had so much compassion for "her kids" on the bus. Mom had five children, who were her pride and joy. She loved us all unconditionally. Mom also had a great passion for sports, especially baseball, and was quite the athlete growing up! Faith and having a relationship with God was of such importance to Mom. She was a prayerful person, praying for anyone and everyone. She will be missed dearly. Our celebration of Mom's life will be held at the Steinbach Mennonite Church, 345 Loewen Blvd., Saturday, December 6 at 11:00 a.m. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Operation Smile, operationsmile.org/canada Arrangements by BIRCHWOOD FUNERAL CHAPEL 1-204-346-1030 OR 1-888-454-1030

  • I'm so sorry to hear about Jeanne's passing! My sincere condolences are extended to the family. I remember spending a lot of time with Jeanne at hockey arenas when our boys played on the same hockey team and our girls were friends and spent time at each other's homes. Even though we had lost touch over the years, I did think of those good times often. Wishing you peace in knowing Jeanne loved you all so very much and that you will see her again! - Posted by: Pat Goertzen () on: Dec 12, 2014

  • Reg and Family, we are so saddened to hear of your loss. The first time I met Jeanne was when I was waiting for Reg to load hay and Jeanne was coming by with the school bus. She thought she saw a bear cross the road so we drove around the bush looking for it. Don't know what we would have done if we'd found it. Second time was when our group camped in your yard. Jeanne came and had coffee and muffins with us in the morning and presented us with a cheque for our fundraising group. Then she took me on a tour of your beautiful house. I loved that she even put on cowboy boots and hat to come sit with us. RIP Dear lady. Hugs for you Reg, and your family. - Posted by: Gary and Pam () on: Dec 06, 2014

  • To Jeanne's family, my deepest condolences. As Marcelle and were driving to/from Winnipeg to attend Jeanne's Celebration of Life all sorts of loving memories came to mind. Everything from Ecole St Roch, my having shared a rented room at Mrs. Loewen's in Steinbach, and to making "pompoms" from kleenex for Jeannette's wedding. The Frechette family hold a very very special place in my heart. Though our paths in life strayed with time, whenever an occasion brought Jeanne and I the opportunity "to catch up" it always felt "like we had just seen each other yesterday". Jeanne was so very proud of her family. After this morning I can see why. And yes, her laugh was very special. You are ALL in my thoughts. Jeanne did touch many hearts.
