Condolences & Memories (20 entries)

  • I didn't know Louella had passed away until recently. I grew up with her brother Rodney and got to know Lynden quite well. Louella was a part of our Bible Study group at Eastview Community Church. Her strong suit was her education and her ability to emulate her students. She was also a support for her father, Peter, who was in need of that support after the loss of Susan, his wife and her mother. She was such a giving and caring person...in a world where everyone is out for themselves, she was able to put others first above her own needs. Thank you, Louella, for the role model you were to your students and the care and support you gave Peter in his time of need. To Peter, Lynden, and Joyce Locht, I want to extend my deepest condolences. Had I known sooner I would have responded sooner. Consider this a hug across the miles, as we're in the Saskatoon area. Our loss is heaven's gain! RIP Louella...look for us when God calls us to join him...until then... - Posted by: Gerry Teigrob (Friend) on: Jun 09, 2020

  • I had Ms. Friesen as a teacher in high school for a law class that I took. She was a great teacher. The one thing I will always remember her saying was, if she was mad you would know because she would be quiet. She would not get mad at anyone, she would be silent. She was a great person who did a lot of good for everyone and always helped everyone every way that she could. Ms. Friesen (Louella), if you are reading these, you know you have touched a lot of people in ways you will never know. The fight you have fought was tremendous the past little bit, and you can see how many people you have affected in their lives. RIP Louella Friesen. - Posted by: Heather (Student) on: Dec 09, 2014

  • She was one of the most influential teachers in my life. She taught me how to think critically and see both sides. I still talked about my experiences in her classes and the love she demonstrated to the students. She will be missed! - Posted by: Steve (Former student) on: Dec 07, 2014

  • Ms. Friesen was an amazing teacher - probably one of the few I had that would stand up for the underdog and wasn't afraid to teach the hard hitting subjects and lessons. She was someone I always admired as a student for not backing down and always being there when someone needed her. - Posted by: Victoria Ross (Howe) (Former Student) on: Dec 07, 2014

  • I just wish to express my condolences again. Louella was an important part of my life. We spoke every day, butted heads but always made up. I was the artist and designer. She was the educator. But somehow we were fast friends. She drove me when my car was busted and I drove her when she didn't feel comfortable. We took yoga together and aquasize. We spent a number of days at my cottage in Gimli. I will miss her dearly as you will too. I wish you all the best.............Margaret. - Posted by: margaret wolstencroft (Good friend since 2010) on: Dec 07, 2014

  • I am very sad to hear of Ms.Friesens passing. She was my favorite teacher in high school. We had many good talks then and after high school when our paths crossed. She would always remind me where she lived and to look for a bright yellow car, and to come visit any time. She cared so much for her students and I feel honored to have been one of them. My heartfelt sympathies to her family. - Posted by: Tracy Sangster (Former student) on: Dec 06, 2014

  • I was one of the students she brought to the Haida Gwaii and I'll never forget the experience. Thanks again. She was the type of teacher who stood up for the underdog and pushed them to better themselves. She fought for our planet and I hope her journey back to the earth was a peaceful one. - Posted by: Mike (Student) on: Dec 06, 2014

  • I'm sorry to hear of Louella's passing. I had the pleasure of her acquaintance through our Association.
