LORRAINE HECTOR (KERR)
Born: Dec 16, 1927
Date of Passing: Dec 02, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLORRAINE HECTOR (nee KERR) December 16, 1927 - December 2, 2014 Lorraine Hector, wife of the late John Hector; mother, grandmother and great-grandmother has completed her earthly journey and has come to a close. She moved on to be with our dad and our brother. Mom was born in Winnipeg to Edith and James Kerr, one of three children. Mom married Dad in October 23, 1947 and they resided in Winnipeg all their lives. In 1951, their daughter Claire was born and in 1957 they were surprised and blessed with twins Colette and Colin. Mom was a perfectionist in all things whether it was her home, her work, her sewing, her appearance or any task she took on. She was determined, independent and a hard worker. Mom and Dad went on a little vacation to Hawaii and fell in love with this paradise as they called it. "Their Retirement Dream" was to live there in the winter months- this dream came true and they spent 27 glorious years in Honolulu making many wonderful friends in their new half time home. When Dad passed, Mom moved into Kildonan Personal Care Centre where she passed away surrounded by her family. Mom was predeceased by her dad 1928, mom 1998, sister 1968, son Colin 1985 and husband John 2011. She leaves to mourn her daughter Claire (Karl), daughter Colette (Garth), five grandchildren Steve (Sondra), Justin (Kim), Jody (Tyler), Johnna (Bryce) and Andreas (Laural) and 11 great-grandchildren Daniel, Jordan (Caitlin), Matthew, Rayanne, Madison, Kennedy, Burke, Nolan, Reese, Dante and Camdyn, brother Norrie, and her lifelong soul-sister and friend Dorothy. Rather than flowers, Mom would have preferred donations to an organization of your choice or better yet, the next time you see anyone with a heavy load, stop, smile, lend them a hand, and gently suggest they "pay it forward". Following Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. A private family interment will be held at a later date.

Lorraine was a fabulous, caring person. I am delighted that our paths crossed many times over the years in Winnipeg and Hawaii. My sympathy is extended to the Hector family on her loss. Marge Hutlet - Posted by: Marjorie Anne Hutlet (friend) on: Dec 06, 2014
