DAVID DOUGLAS ARMSTRONG May 10, 1948 - November 23, 2014 At the Thompson General Hospital, after a three year courageous battle with cancer, Dave passed away with his loving wife Jane and family at his side. He was 66 years old. David was born in Watrous, SK on May 10, 1948. Dave followed his dream of working on planes and becoming a pilot. David married Jane Beardy on April 10, 1976 in Cross Lake, MB. They raised three daughters, Lisa, Angela and Janice in Wabowden. They settled in Cross Lake in 1992. Dave's passion in life were aviation, driving his motor cycle, boating, fishing, cheering on the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and playing instruments such as the trumpet and guitar. Most of all, David loved watching his grandsons play hockey. David is survived by: his brother Christopher of Quill Lake, SK, wife Jane daughters Lisa (Harold) Nachbaur, (Morrison) McIvor, Janice (Fred) Armstrong, Athlee Halcrow, grandsons Jordon, Jayden, Christopher, Tyrell, Kelson, Clinton, Justin, Brentyn, Aaron, granddaughters Alayna and Nicole McIvor, and three great- grandchildren Tabarez, Jayce, Galaxie. Predeceased by: parents Christopher and Margaret Armstrong, sister Margaret, sister-in-law Carol, mother-in-law Bella (nee Ross) Beardy father-in-law Elijah Beardy. A viewing and wake service was held on November 26, 2014 at Light of the North Church in Thompson Manitoba. Dave's final wish was to be cremated and have his ashes spread across Utik Lake, MB, and on a farm in Quill Lake, SK. If friends so desire a donation may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
