Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEPHEN WILLIAM BEYAK It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Stephen William Beyak on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at the age of 83. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife Jennie (Jean) of 58 years and their five children, Alice Miller (Glen), Alvin Beyak, Carol Kovacs (Robert), Susan Lachowich (Darcy) and Debbie Beyak. He will be dearly missed by his sister Anne Chudyk; brother-in-law Elmer Stefishen (Jackie); sister-in-law Pat Plante (Fred); three grandchildren, Stephen Beyak (Nicole), Jennifer Beyak and Matthew Miller; one great-grandchild Kara Beyak; extended family members, Courtenay Vink and her daughter Audrey; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Steve was predeceased by his parents, William and Effie Beyak; sisters, Katie Monchka (Steve), Jenny Hucaluk (Lucas), Ada Monchka (John), Ella Boyko; and brothers, John Beyak, Nick Beyak (Mary) and Paul Beyak (Sally). Steve was born on January 15, 1931 in the rural town of Winnipegosis, Manitoba. He also resided in Churchill and Flin Flon until the early 1960s when he relocated the family to Winnipeg. After working in a variety of trades, he settled into a career as a maintenance mechanic at the Misericordia Hospital for over 20 years until his retirement. Steve enjoyed his retirement years travelling with Jennie as snowbirds and spent many winter seasons in Desert Hot Springs, California. His other passions included: casino gaming, crib, dominoes, browsing on his computer and spending quality time with his family. He also had an innate musical talent as he could play musical instruments by ear with no formal training and often burst into old time songs and limericks that were a source of entertainment to his family. In keeping with Steve's wishes, cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date for a memorial service and celebration of Steve's life. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Matsubara and the 2nd floor staff at the Victoria Hospital for their special care. Flowers are gratefully declined. God called his angel home today and the world is a much sadder place. Stevie was the most gentle, kind, loving person you could have the privilege of knowing. He would always be there to help out when needed, and even if you didn't need help he somehow found a way to be there for you. His sense of humor, whit and advise ( sometimes pretty crazy )will be deeply missed by all. Meeka will miss you Steve, who will feed me and let me out when no ones home. Who will cut the lawn and shovel he snow now. To Jennie and family my deepest condolences know that I will always be there for you. Steve was the kindest, gentle, loving person and neighbou, who would give the shirt off his back to help anyone, always there when ever you needed help. His sense of humor, wit, and that beautiful little smirk will be missed by all. Meeka will miss you Steve, who will feed me when no ones home, who will cut the neighbours lawn now.
