Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLGA SAPACH With great sadness the family of Olga Sapach announce our Mother's passing. Olga passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the age of 82 on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Victoria General Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Olga was born on October 7, 1932 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and began the first twelve years of her life on her family's farm in Cooks Creek, Manitoba. She would often share very fond childhood memories of these rural, cultural and ethnic experiences within the Ukrainian and Polish community. From there her family would move to St. Boniface where she would continue her life and education. In her adult life our Mom enjoyed walking and being with people and people enjoyed being with her. Often Mom would share with us her friendly experiences with people in her community. She enjoyed reading, nature and especially flowers and would enthusiastically and poetically comment on the details of what she was seeing. Often along these walks Mom would collect flowers and objects that caught her eye and return home to compose and appreciate them. Also in the comfort of her home mom would look forward to reading the newspaper front to back; always interested in what was happening in the world. Other activities Mom loved were cooking and baking which her family always looked forward to at gatherings. We especially enjoyed Mom's Ukrainian dishes such as peroghies, holupchi, pereshke and so many lovely pastries and desserts which she put her heart and soul intofor us. Olga's mother and father were Emily and Joseph Starzynski and her brothers Frank and Walter. At 23 years of age, Olga married Victor Sapach; however later in life would be divorced. Olga will be lovingly missed and always remembered by her sons Bruce, Brad and wife Connie, Garry and wife Wendy, Glen and wife Cheryl; grandchildren Quinn and Leah, Adam, Andrew, Lindsay and Curtis, with numerous great-grandchildren. Prayers will be said at 7:00 p.m., Thursday December 11 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons. Divine Liturgy (Mass), will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 12 in St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 390 Marion Street. Liturgy will be followed by a Memorial lunch and then proceed to Interment to take place at St.Michael's Cemetery in Cooks Creek. My sincere, heartfelt sympathy goes out to the Sapach Family. Bruce & Glen your Mom was very special. One of the sweetest, kindest, caring & loving beautiful people I had the benefit of meeting, seeing often, and got to know through my work. She was proud of you and so very grateful for how you always made time to take care of her. She told me often how lucky she was. You are in my thoughts and prayers. She will always remain in your hearts and may you have wonderful memories to cherish and share. Take Care Joyce - Posted by: Joyce Philion (Friend of Olga,Bruce & Glen ) on: Dec 08, 2014
