TERENCE LEONARD KRAMCHYNSKY
Date of Passing: Nov 29, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTERENCE LEONARD KRAMCHYNSKY It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Terence (Terry) Leonard Kramchynsky on November 29, 2014 at the age of 50 years. He will be sadly remembered by his wife Kim and his children Rachel, David and Adam. He will also be sadly missed by his parents Olga and Tony Kramchynsky; and his siblings Laurie-Ann Ulmer, Eileen Nelson, Joann Marches (Floyd); and James Kramchynsky (Paula) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Terry was raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan which he often referred to a as God's Country. In December, 1982 Terry proudly joined the Canadian Armed Forces as an armoured crewman with the Lord Strathcona's Horse (Royal Canadians) (LDSH) followed by 16 years with the Canadian Military Engineers as a Structural Technician. He served numerous tours overseas, including three tours in the Golan Heights (1985, 1995, 1999) and Haiti (1997), retiring from the military in 2004. Terry looked back fondly on his years in the Armed Forces and especially the relationships forged with his "Band of Brothers". Terry had many interests and hobbies but his greatest joy came from hunting, fishing and his passion for carpentry. Over the years Terry created many beautiful pieces of carpentry for family and friends. He could always be counted on to lend a hand helping build a fence, pouring a driveway or fixing his neighbour's lawn mower. Terry always had a soft spot for animals. In June 2012 Spencer, a Doberman mix, came into his life and quickly became a special companion. Spencer, a certified active service dog from Courageous Companions, became a very important part of his life. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Gianna Beretta Molla Roman Catholic Church, 15 Columbia Drive, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Our family would like to extend a special thanks to all those who supported Terry with their friendship, professional care and compassion in recent years. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Courageous Companions, Unit 4 846 Marion Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R2J 0K4. We will miss you. May you finally be at peace. To Mr. Kramchynsky's family, I did not know your Terence, but I just watched the video on CritterFiles, and was very touched by Terence's segment. He was obviously a very caring, loving and patriotic man who sacrificed so much for our country and all Canadians. Terence was a hero. I am so very sorry for your loss and I hope you find strength and solace in the days ahead. I hope Terence has found peace too. I can only imagine the sadness you are feeling right now and I hope knowing that others care helps in some small way. Take care of each other and please give Spencer a hug from me. Terence, thank you for your service and sacrifice. Rest easy. - Posted by: Susan Rogers (Thankful Canadian) on: Dec 21, 2014

Terry was my supervisor (MCpl) on my first tour in Haiti in 1997. Always good for a laugh, he had nicknamed me "Brook Trout" because I had shoulders like one because I was so skinny at that time! He will be missed and I hope he is resting in peace. Ski, Chimo! - Posted by: Dan Fralick (Fellow Engineer) on: Dec 18, 2014

I am saddened to hear this news today. Terry was my first roommate upon completing TQ 3 late in 1983 and being posted to Recce Sqn. A lot of time has passed but I remember him "Laying down the law" as to how things went in the shacks. I was lucky to have such a great roommate. I hope the family finds comfort in stories and memories knowing they are not the only ones missing him each day. I also hope you know that our heavenly Father understands your pain better than anyone and if you allow Him, He can help you through this valley. - Posted by: David Noack (Strathcona roommate Rm 238 Bldg A13) on: Dec 10, 2014

I did not know Terence but just watched a piece that ran on CBC 06 MAR, 2013. I was so touched by his story that I decided to google his name. I hoped to locate him as I intended to send an expression of gratitude for his service and holiday wishes to he and Spencer. Instead I am now sending sincerest condolences to his family which includes Spencer, who was surely an angel with fur. You will all be in my prayers. To Terence, I say Godpspeed Sir and from the bottom of my heart, thank you for your service. - Posted by: Cynthia Scheible (Grateful Canadian) on: Dec 10, 2014

Kim I'm so sorry to hear of Terry's passing. He was a great guy to work with and all the guys at work thought a lot of him. Terry was truly a gift in our lives. He was our neighbor, our friend, and became like family over the past 3 years. Although Terry was clearly a wounded soldier, he was also a gentle giant, a generous and beautiful spirit and a wonderful friend. We're at the cabin right now and it feels so empty and forlorn without having Terry and Spencer next door, without having Spencer and Terry walking up the path with Spencer's bells alerting us to their arrival. He will be missed.... We love you Terry. May you rest in peace. - Posted by: Rosie and Carol (Friend) on: Dec 07, 2014
