MARY BURROWS It is with great sadness the family of Mary Burrows announces her passing on Sunday, November 30, 2014. She leaves to mourn her beloved husband of 68 years, George, daughters Janice and Glenda (Tom) and grandson Justin. Mary was a wonderful wife, mother, and friend. She enjoyed her long career as a legal stenographer and after retiring missed the hustle and bustle of being downtown. Mary was an avid gardener and loved growing flowers and especially tomatoes from seed. She loved company and coffee with the neighbours on the back patio and visiting with longtime friends. She was full of life, kind, quick-witted, and possessed a wonderful sense of humour. She was devoted to her husband and daughters above all. The family would like to thank the staff at Concordia Place 4th floor who cared for her with kindness and compassion during the last four years. As per Mary's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family funeral will take place at a later date. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenedenmemorial.ca Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery 204-338-7111

I am so sorry to hear of Mary's passing. If I may I would like to relay a story that I have thought about on several occasions. When my mom Marie Kell was still living your mom would visit and the two of them would have coffee. If I do remember correctly your mom was not fond of cats and of course we had one. As cats tend to do our Tammy would continually purr up against your mom and find its way into her purse. When she would get up to leave her bag was considerably heavier than when she arrived. Of course the cat had found a comfy place to sleep. I do hope the memories you have of your mother will be enough to help you through this very sad time.
