Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I have had the great pleasure of knowing and working with Dan in the Cargill grain industry for a few decades. He was always very kind and easy to work with. He always took the time to help anyone who needed his expertise. Always willing to share his knowledge in order to help others do and understand their jobs better. Such a mild mannered good guy. Condolences to his family and friends. - Posted by: Lou Desharnais (co-worker) on: Dec 19, 2014

  • I have many many fond memories of Uncle Danny when I was growing up. He was such a positive person who was always willing to spend time with us kids. As we grew up and life took us in different directions, it was always a pleasure to hear from him and be around him when possible. He always took the time to keep in touch. We are thinking of you with our deepest sympathies, Auntie Judy. It is times like this that we wish there weren't so many miles between us. • Dan & I started at Rosetown Cargill in the 1970's. One of my clearest memories of Dan is when he joined me one Saturday afternoon when I was picking up malting barley samples direct from the farmers who were harvesting. Part of the exercise involved also sampling the finished product and by the end of the afternoon there weren't many farmers whose barley wasn't being selected. Dan was always straightforward and there was never any doubt where you stood with him, it was a privilege to have known him for all these years. - Posted by: Jim McKerchar (Long-time Friend & Acquaintance) on: Dec 11, 2014
