MARJORIE VIVIAN JAQUES (nee MORFOOT) March 24, 1932 - December 8, 2014 With profound sadness we announce the passing of Marjorie Vivian Jaques on December 8, 2014. Marge was predeceased by her husband Walter (2002) and will be missed and remembered with love by her family: son Robert (Bonnie) and their children Jason (Theresa), Mandy Barkman (Bevan); daughter Patricia Zaretski (Joseph) and their children Jennifer, Carolyn Arseneault (Tim) [Alexis and Addison], Joseph (Anna) [Emma and Aiden], and Cassandra (Evan Murray); son David (Susan) and their children Steven, Andrew, Heather [daughter Aubrey], and Melissa (Dean Anderson); son Lorne (Svetlana) and their children Anna and Norris. Mom and Dad were married on September 15, 1951 and lived for 24 years on Grassie Boulevard in North Kildonan raising their family, before moving to the Oakbank area in 1975 where Mom remained until being hospitalized in May 2014. Mom's family meant the world to her. She was never happier than when she was baking and giving away the results to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. If you went to visit there was always a cup of tea or coffee, some homemade dessert from a new recipe she was trying and a good game of cards. Flowers and gardening were also her passions. A celebration of Mom's life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. A private interment will take place at a later date. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

  • I was so sad to hear that Grandma Jaques passed away. We spent many times together at the hockey rink, and the boys' teammates will remember Grandma Jaques and her baked treats she made for them, but only if they played a good game. She made me laugh many times, and the hockey games were alway more fun and interesting having her there. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time of sorrow. - Posted by: Bonny & Mike Poitras (Family Friend) on: Dec 11, 2014

  • Grandma, I will always remember coming out for visits and being greeted by your warm hugs and kisses. Visits were ALWAYS welcomed and usually followed by several games of cards with lots of laughs. Your unconditional love will never be forgotten and you will be in my heart forever. Love you and miss you a lot, Cassie - Posted by: Cassie Zaretski (Grandaughter) on: Dec 11, 2014

  • We'd like to extend our deepest condolences to the family, having known Dave and Susan and their family for many years. Marge was a wonderful lady! Take care, all of you. - Posted by: Mark and Jody Smith and family (Family friends) on: Dec 11, 2014

  • So sorry to hear of Aunt Marj's passing. We loved visiting with her and Uncle Walter. She always made us welcome and told us lots of stories on what each of my cousins and their kids were up to. She was a very proud mom and grandmother! She was also a very kind and caring lady. I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to visit her one more time, but happy that's she now with Uncle Walter. - Posted by: Gwen Jaques (Niece) on: Dec 11, 2014
