JOHN ADRIEN EUGENE JEANNOTTE Peacefully, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's, it is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at the age of 87 years. Left to forever cherish John's memory are his loving wife of 61 years, Shirley; their four children, Cheryl (Trent), Ken (Heidi), Michael (Irene), Leanne (John); 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Pete (Rita), Lorraine (Henry), Terry, Aline (Mike), Gilbert (Julie), Patsy (Bill), Josette, Mariette, and Vivianne; brothers-in-law Ken (Margaret) and Wayne; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Patrice and Marie; brother Giles (age 18 months); brothers-in-law, Len, Jack, and Gene. John worked for Arlington Builders for 19 years before trying his hand in the hardware business in Treherne, Manitoba, where he became a charter member of the Kinsman Club, serving in the capacity of Vice President, and then President. John returned to Winnipeg to work for the Province of Manitoba in Government Services as project manager for 21 years. He loved nothing more than a big family get-together where everyone was having a great time. There were many nights where brothers and sisters would get together for a good ol' fashioned family ho down. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in St. John XXIII Roman Catholic Church, 3390 Portage Avenue, with Rev. Fr. Gerald Langevin, presiding. Entombment will follow in the Queen of Heaven Mausoleum in Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue. We would like to extend a thank you to all the staff on the fifth floor at the Grace Hospital, with a special thank you to Debbie for all your care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in his name to the Alzheimer Society, 10 - 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2. Wojcik's Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 2157 Portage Avenue, 204-897-4665, is in care of arrangements. wojciksfuneralchapel.com "Forever in our hearts".

Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time Mrs. Jeannotte. Our families were neighbours for many, many years with many, many great memories. Thank you Mr.& Mrs. Jeannotte for being there anytime we needed another Mum or Dad around. I have nothing but wonderful memories. Thinking of you all. With Love from Lorraine, Kevin and Robert McElroy. R.I.P. Mr. Jeannotte. - Posted by: Lorraine Buckmaster (McElroy) (Neighbour) on: Mar 23, 2015

  • To Mrs. Jeannotte (you'll always be Mrs. Jeannotte to me), Cheryl, Ken, Michael and Leanne, my sincere condolences. Your family was like an extension of ours growing up in the neighbourhood. Cherish your memories. - Posted by: Diana Holloway (Prior) (old neighbour ) on: Dec 15, 2014

  • So sorry to hear of your loss. John was a good man, father and husband. I know you miss him a lot. - Posted by: Linda Messervey (Friend) on: Dec 14, 2014

  • I was a friend of Leanne's (I think it was Ness...it seems so long ago). My last name then was Demydowich, if that helps you remember, Leanne. I remember Mr. and Mrs. Jeannotte as being very kind and welcoming whenever I visited their home, and I know he will be greatly missed. So sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Joy Johnson Daly (friend of Leanne) on: Dec 13, 2014

  • I fondly remember spending many days/nites with Cheryl & family - during our family summer holidays. Uncle Johnny was always telling stories - & being a teaser - he enjoyed getting our 'goat'. He always had a smile on his face - one of the reasons was probably 'cause Aunty Shirley always seemed to have food coming out of the kitchen! It was a happy household. I'll miss you Uncle. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Janet Neumeyer (Neice) on: Dec 13, 2014
