Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY CERKOWNAK (nee TEPILO) December 26, 1014 December 11, 2014 Peacefully on Thursday, December 11, 2014, Mary Cerkownak, aged 99, passed away at the Concordia Hospital. Mary was predeceased by her parents William and Anastasia Tepilo, husband George, brother John, sisters Katherine Meck, Anne Reshetylo, and Toni Yaremko. She is survived by sons Melvin and Art (Pat) Cerkow, sister Sue Coiner; grandchildren Michael, Norine (Ben) Hiebert, Austin and Melissa (Lorne) Delaronde; great-grandchildren Brittany, Riley, Elizabeth, Brady, and Holly; great-great-grandchildren Makaela and Payton. Mary was born and raised in Tyndall, MB. She was the owner of Windsor Foods for 25 years. Mom enjoyed gardening and flowers. Mary was a good cook, making sure that nobody went home hungry. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB. Interment to follow. Although the store was called Windsor Foods, the neighborhood called it "Mary's". My family lived next to the store and saw Mary almost every day. Mary was one of the most generous and kind individuals I have ever met. She extended credit to so many people as long as she could, was firm but kind to the kids when they acted up in the store, ensured her products were of the highest quality, and was the best butcher ever. I was touched when she came to my Mother's funeral in 1994. I was very pleased to see both Mary and Melvin there. Mary was a wonderful person and although I haven't seen her in years, I still think of her often. I'm sorry to have missed Mary's service.
