Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORMAN E. SMITH September 12, 1941 - December 6, 2014 It is with great sadness that the family of Norman E. Smith announces his passing. He is survived by his wife Patricia, children Jason, Jennifer Schreyer (Kevin) and his grandchildren Andrew, Noah and Logan. Also left to mourn his passing are his siblings Florence Bilenduke, Don (Bev), Helen Chabun (Paul) and Jim (Carol), many nieces and nephews as well as their extended families. Norman was born in Vita, Manitoba. He attended Mountbatten School in St. Germain and graduated from Churchill High School. He could turn his hand to anything, A self taught mechanic he had a long career in the Petroleum industry including Texaco, Gulf and Petro Canada. He and his wife retired in their favourite place, the cottage in Ingolf where he lovingly finished the interior. Norman was a man of few words, loyal and someone you could count on. He was an honest and hardworking person. He was a nature lover who enjoyed the flora and fauna at the lake and also enjoyed researching his family tree, Scrabble and Louis L'Amour novels. Being a rare blood type, he recognized the importance of blood donation and proudly donated over 75 times. A memorial service will take place in Ingolf, Ontario at Ingolf campers Hall, June,14, 2015. If friends so desire in lieu of flowers donations may be made in Norm's memory to the Canadian Blood Services, any animal shelter or Lake of the Woods District Hospital. A reminder of the service will be published in the Free Press a couple of weeks prior to the memorial.
