Born: Apr 12, 1964

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJONATHON HENRY JAMES BELL April 12, 1964 - November 25, 2014 With many wonderful memories we say goodbye to Jonathon Bell of Kenora, Ontario. He passed away peacefully on November 25, 2014 at the age of 50 years. Jonathon leaves behind the loves of his life, his two daughters Samantha and Kaitlyn Bell. Left to cherish his memory are his granddaughters Ava and Charlee, mother Jean, father Bob (Patsy), brother Greg (Patricia), Uncle Hart (Marilyn), Aunt Bernie (Roger), Uncle Ron; aunts Doris, Maude and Esther; nephews Quinn, Ezra and Benjamin, and stepdaughters Natasha (mother Yvonne) and Samantha (mother Cristina). Jonathon was predeceased by his grandparents Henry and Janet (old nanny) Holmstrom, Roy and Freida Bell, Uncle Bud, sister Joanne, and Kaitlyn's mother Tamara Gunn. Jonathon was born in Kenora, Ontario and grew up in Winnipeg. He was loved by everyone who knew him, people gravitated towards him and his loving personality. He was a loving father, he was so proud of his girls and would tell anyone who would listen to him talk about his beautiful daughters and how much he loved them. He will be remembered for his quirky dance moves and love of music (he played the guitar and the violin). He also liked to talk about his childhood dog Lucky and his love of dirt bike riding. He had a great group of friends he was very fond of: Gerry, Rick, Rob, Chris and Peter. His best friend was old nanny, they had a special bond. They would sit and knit, cook, sing and they especially loved reminiscing about the family run general store in Perrault Falls, Ontario and the good times they shared. We find comfort in knowing they are reunited. Jonathon spent the last five years of his life in beautiful Parksville, British Columbia to look after his mother. He was walking distance from the ocean and was surrounded by nature. He especially enjoyed walking to the beach and watching the sand castle competitions. He made many friends in Parksville - most of whom will be part of Samantha and Kaitlyn's extended family. We, the family would like to send a big thank you to Dr. Kinyen and his staff at Nanaimo General Hospital and also a very big thank you to Rita Paul, you are an amazing woman and we are so lucky to have you in our lives, we love you. A celebration of Jonathon's life will be held at a later date for close friends and family. Please contact family if you wish to attend. Dad, we love you so much and we will cherish the memories. Samantha and Kaitlyn xoxo

Jonathon and I went to school together back in the 70's. He was only 1 day younger than me but he acted like a big brother. He was almost always late for school, arriving just as the final bell rang. He sometimes would forget his homework and copy off of others. For the 4th grade Science Fair he had nothing prepared so I let him in on my Submarine Project, he actually know more than I gave him to read up on and we won an Honorable Mention ribbon because of his contribution. We also played both Divisional School Baseball & Soccer for Grosvenor School(Grades 5&6). I remember his silliness and his smile, him riding his Schwinn bike, the one with the small front tire, Lucky, his part wolf dog, that he said his Dad found while cutting trees one day, his playfulness and living down the fact that he was a model in the flyers that I used to deliver to his house along with the paper. Unfortunately once we got into Junior High we drifted in different directions. My deepest condolences to his family. I found our conversation the other day on facebook and there is so much i wish I could have said to you and so much I can't say cause I no you won't reply. I still can't believe you are gone but I no you will always watch over us but it's just so hard to look back and I'm wishing I said the things I wanted to say to you when you were here. You were the only real father figure in my life I never actually had my dad there for me like you were there for me and my mom. It's hard to think about all the great memories that we had as a family but I'm so thankful for you and my sisters i actually no what it's like to have siblings and not just be an only child thank you Jonathan for giving me a wonderful childhood i think of you all the time I love you so much rest in paradise! - Posted by: Samantha Cereceda (step daughter ) on: Dec 22, 2014

My deepest condolences to Jonathon's family, loved ones and friends. I was very fortunate at a young age (elementary years) to have experienced Jonathon as my first best friend. Even though we were very young, the best, purest and fondest memories I hold very dear today, are the times I spent hanging and playing with Jonathon as a child. Mr. and Mrs. Bell were very kind to me and I remember the wonderful times they took Jonathon and I swimming to the beaches and to the logging camp in Ontario. We used to play in his back yard with his dog Lucky and ride our bikes together. Jonathon also loved to walk and we did a lot of walking together, home from school and to Assiniboine park. He always out walked me, out swam me, out rode me and out played me, which I never minded one bit. Jonathon always shared all of his games, toys and family with me and was a very generous and caring person to me, at such a young age. I use to brag to my other friends that my best friend Jonathon's dog "Lucky was part Wolf"!! Unfortunately, I moved away and life's journey separated us as friends and regret I never kept that friendship today. To Jonathon's loved ones, again my deepest condolences, truly a great loss in so many ways. - Posted by: David Hayden (Childhood friend) on: Dec 16, 2014
