Condolences & Memories (22 entries)

  • Dear Debbie, Aynslee & Jenna, What a great man and person Ron was. I worked on and off with Ron for a number of years and somewhere along the way I gave him the nickname "the little brat". Debbie, I think you would remember those days as it was around the time you two started dating. Funny how he never got mad if I called him that...he would just smile, even when he worked at 720. It still brings a smile to my face when I think that stuck for 30 plus years. I did go to see him one time after he was sick when he was at the Victoria hospital and thought there were moments when he remembered if only for a moment. Debbie...the letter you wrote that was read at Ron's memorial was beautiful. One never knows what each day may bring. May you all find God's Grace through the months ahead. • The DeVos family are very saddened by the passing of our son, brother, uncle and great-uncle Ron. Ron is survived by his mother Madeliene, brother Rodney, sister Roberta, sisters-in-law Gina and Louise, brother-in-law Bruce, nephews Nick and Colton, niece Holly and great nephew Desmond. He is predeceassed by his father Robert and brother Randall. Ron had a great love for family - immediate and extended. He enjoyed all the times the family spent together - playing hockey on the river, snowmobiling, playing shuffleboard and any other game for which we always played the 'World Championship'. In everything Ron did he gave 100%. Ron was extremely reliable and dependable. Ron was the one we all wanted on our team. It is hard to understand why our loved ones are taken from us all too soon, but we find comfort in knowing that we were a special part of a well-lived life. - Posted by: Roberta Elsholz (nee DeVos) (Sister) on: Dec 16, 2014

  • Geri and myself worked with Ron both in the stores and myself in sales. He would always say to me after my sales pitch for an extra display "can't do that" as he was walking then he would turn and point and say "put it over here" with that Devos smile. He'll be sadly missed by all that came in contact with him. Our condolences, Wayne and GERI. - Posted by: wayne and geri slobodian (friends of ron through our many collective years at canada safeway ) on: Dec 15, 2014
