Condolences & Memories (9 entries)

  • "Our death is not an end, if we can live on in our children and the younger generation. For they are us; our bodies are only wilted leaves on the tree of life." My sincere condolences to the family, Mel, we will meet again, in a nicer place than this place here, we call home. Everything in life is temporary, on loan, from dust to dust... but the soul is back from where it came from... God's hands. - Posted by: Gunter Korell (Business partner) on: Dec 23, 2014

  • My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Your father was great inspiration to me. I really enjoyed his talks and his wisdom he shared with me. He will be missed, it's hard to let go of a loved one and fill the void in the heart but he is at peace now. God now has a true landscaping legend. - Posted by: Gordon Bragg (Mentor) on: Dec 20, 2014

  • So sorry & saddened to hear of Mel's passing. I have many fond memories of him & think of him often. He was a great role model & a fantastic mentor. I can't count the number of times his words of wisdom have bailed me out of a tight spot. Whether managing my own company or travelling down south, his advice is never far away. That wisdom made up for what my salary lacked! All kidding aside, it was my lucky day the day I walked into McEwen Bros. The McEwen's became my second family while I was there, and my fond memories of Mel extend to his family - Laurie, Gwen, Bette, Jean, brother Mervin (Linda), sister Myrtle - our thoughts are with you. It was an honour to know & learn from Mel. He will be missed. Wish I could be there, but I'm down south now thinking of him...maybe I'll find an auction to attend in his honour. - Posted by: Richard & Sandy Motkaluk () on: Dec 20, 2014
