HELEN SLAVUTA (SHOLIKOWSKI) Sadly the family announces the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, Baba, sister, aunty and friend, Helen Slavuta on Saturday December 13, 2014 at the Fisher Personal Care Home. Helen was born in the McMaster District on June 5, 1929 and married Donald Zeno Slavuta on November 16, 1945. She is survived by six children John, Donald (Helen), Diane, Barbara (John Hubar), Shirley, Jerome (Mindy), and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Helen is also survived by her sister Josephine Gorchynski in Saskatchewan, her sisters-in-law Stella Monaster from Inwood and Edith Sholikowski from Bird's Hill. Helen was predeceased by her husband Donald Zeno (2013), her daughter Eileen, her parents Mike and Caroline Sholikowski, her brothers Walter, John, Bert, Alfred (Edythe) Sholikowski and sister Clara Kosteletsky. She was also predeceased by her daughter-in-law Lynda (John), son-in-law Don Shoemaker (Diane), brothers-in-law Steve Monaster (Stella), John Gorchynski (Josephine), John Slavuta and John's first wife Helen and second wife Alice. You will never be forgotten, we will always love and miss you. Our family would like to thank all the staff at the Fisher Personal Care Home for the care and support they provided Helen. Final farewell (memorial service) will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fisher Funeral Home chapel, in Fisher Branch, Manitoba.   • Our sincere condolence to the family. I had the opportunity of working with Helen at Skibinski's General in the 80s. She was an amazing lady, happy, kind, and never missed a day's work. I would run into Helen from time to time over the years and she was always happy to see me. We would talk about ole times. She will be sadly missed.
